While teaching in South Central (yes, folks, I am white) I told my class that the word ‘niggah’ or any of its variants were not allowed in my class.

“But Mr. Roesch…that’s a black thang!”

I then told them that I, as a black man, did not think it was a black thang.

WHAT?

We all came from Africa, didn’t we? I told my class that I was merely a very light skinned black man.

One young man said he used the word niggah at home. I picked up the phone (we had one in the class) and called his father at work. His father told me he would have a talk with his son when he got home (yes, one of the few ‘black dudes’ who had a dad at home).

Needless to say, the word was not used in my classroom and the young black man only missed one day of class and apologized to me, personally.

Oddly enough, a group of Hispanic students, after school one day, thanked me for telling the class that. They were offended by the use of the word.

Long story shorter?

Don’t wait, because the fairness doctrine is coming. It was law once and ruled unconstitutional.

The drive behind this is the Dems who do NOT want the conservative base to come out in 2008. As its been proven time and time again, congress does NOT have to pass constitutionally sound legislation. All they need to do is get it passed. Its only by active communication with our representatives that we can ensure there are not enough votes for the doctrine to overturn a VETO by Bush.

If it gets to a veto by bush, it will pass as soon as dems have enough power…

What does it mean? It means death to conservative voice because it requires that every opinion be allowed to be countered by an opposing opinion.

Fucked up or what? As much as this might seem unimaginable, think again. Don’t be apethetic because its not rational for it to happen. Remember, in Lib world rational does not count!!!
