Whoomp! There it is.
President Bush is set to veto the Democrat’s “election mandate”
withdrawal bill today.
There are rumblings of some sort of a “deal” in play. There should be no deal that involves any dates that can be considered firm for any sort of troop withdrawals.

Be respectful of others and their opinions. Inflammatory remarks and inane leftist drivel will be deleted. It ain’t about free speech, remember you’re in a private domain. My website, my prerogative.

We don’t need the fucking bacon, either… oh well. I guess peanut storage and body armor DO go hand in hand.
May 1st, 2007 at 4:49 amExcellent comic. I’ve had similar ideas like: 1) dress up as UBL with obviously fake (don’t want to actually scare anyone) guns or bombs in hand, stand outside of the Senate or House office building with a megaphone and vociferously thank the Democrats who voted for withdrawal kind of like this: “Osama sends his thanks to you, my friend(s), for your support! Please keep up the bad (err, Good) work on our behalf! (and on and on it goes)”…
Or have an accomplice with a ready camera stand by while (in costume as described above) going up to notables like Schumer, throwing your arm around him and pose for a quick photo with a wide grin and maybe enthusiastically pump his hand in thanks! It would be great! Unfortunately, I have neither the time nor the money to do it, but maybe some conservative groups might take up the challenge…
May 1st, 2007 at 4:54 amPresident Bush cannot be swayed again to believe that he can believe anything the dems are trying to sell. Those assholes are as big an ememy as the insurgents.
May 1st, 2007 at 5:01 amIf this administration compromises with the leftists assholes on any dates of any kind, then this administration should be charged with dereliction of duty. God bless our heroes who have to fight through all of this Armani-suited bullshit.
100,000 words for that cartoon
May 1st, 2007 at 5:03 amHey, check out the date on that cartoon…Osama’s ad worked!
May 1st, 2007 at 5:29 amWhat is it now? …bout 80days for wannabe secretary of state Pelosi and traitor Reid to deliver a bill that they know will be vetoed.
Bush talks of his desire to work with Dems BUT insists there will be NO artificial dates and NO micromanagement of the war from congress.
HE BETTER STICK WITH IT
If the bill excludes deadlines & micromanagement but includes pork he will sign it. I disagree with the absurd and irresponsible spending of LIBS including the dems, but this can be used against them in the 08 elections.
I do not believe the dems will have passing bills in the future, I pray there will be democrat dissention on the next round.
In any event, the reappropriations of cash costs money in itself. This is worth grandstanding on. Democrat’s intentional & knowing wasting of resources is unforgivable. Democrat’s traitorious behaviour is punishable
Just my pissed off opinion
May 1st, 2007 at 5:37 amThis reminds me that I am worried that Bush, at his core is just another politician, and that he will continue to act in a ‘prudent’ way, trying to be buddies with his associates in the beltway. I almost believe that he was OK with a d’rats win, (all those members of the skull and bones society should get a chance at playing screw the people).
No one has ever explained why he has been so passive at times in his approach to using the media. Leadership is not a popularity contest, maybe the way in which he advanced in his youth, and through college, and then business and politics has made him too soft in combating his peers.
I want some fire and brimstone from him, and now I hear he will essentially do the veto in private.
May 1st, 2007 at 6:26 amAgree w/you Steve. President Bush has definitely lost his “swagger”. He always sounds…almost effeminate when addressing the media…sorta apologetic even about the veto.
I remember in his first term he always sounded in control when dealing w/the media. What happened to our fearless leader?
Well..I suppose his ignorance on the border…but anyhow..
May 1st, 2007 at 6:48 amIf Bush responds to the D’s publicly then he legitimizes their point. I think this is, in part, why he doesn’t talk to or even reply in public to Immagonnadoit. As soon as he does, he legitimizes the guy and brings him up to Bush’s level. By not talking about either, he keeps the repetitiveness of the subject at a smaller level. If they submit to him, and then he talks with them, that gives him the advantage.
This is just a theory of mine, so everyone but Kipp please feel free to rip it to shreds.
May 1st, 2007 at 9:31 amApparently, the President is scheduled to give a statement at 6:10 p.m. EDT today regarding the veto. Will be interested to see how that goes down.
May 1st, 2007 at 11:37 amMax in Minnesota’s first suggestion is profoundly stupid, but his second - if carried out - would constitute assault. I can’t believe some of the outrageous (and potentially felonious) suggestions that have appeared in this blog’s comments of late.
May 1st, 2007 at 11:46 amLoved max’s comment and idea, but if Mckinney cannot be charged for assault and Web’s bitch can bring a gun in illegally without being charged, I think that it is unlikely a political stunt where no one is physically threatened would end up in serious charges.
Just don’t bring fake weapons along for the gag.
Concerned Citizen, are you a schumer supporter?
May 1st, 2007 at 12:12 pmOK Greg, a rippin I will go!
Actually you are right in not responding to them, it says they set the agenda and would be a bad move.
I would like him to press initially, or when they get a whiff of the next political move, that his office gets in front and presses and puts them at the defensive.
If there was/is a strategy of letting the stalinist fascists we call d’rats hang themselves on their own hypocrisy, I am tired of it, it is not working and as proof, there is now a majority of the d’rats in the legislative branch.
May 1st, 2007 at 12:24 pmJust reverse the party memberships: Would you still support such a stunt?
May 1st, 2007 at 1:31 pmConcerned, if the Reps were doing everything they could to embolden the terrorists, SURE!!!
What bothers you is how a stunt like that would demonstrate openly what is being done by the Dems, wiping away all the pretenses in one fell swoop that the Dems give a shit about our troops, their mission or anything but their own power. The brainwashed masses would understand it too and go ‘hey, this IS what is boils down to!”
Dems take advantage of the decency of conservatives, but Honey, I gotta tell ya straight, it’s wearing mighty thin.
May 1st, 2007 at 2:18 pmWell I would not have to switch parties, I am an independant. Funny how I have thrown the single party lever since 92 for the Republicans. When the d’rats bring something to the table I may vote their way, but I think the party will not survive embracing socialist and stalinist ideas. You guys have followed the donkey over the cliff.
May 1st, 2007 at 2:46 pmI would love to see Obama er I mean osama giving thanks to murtha, pelosi and reid, in fact I bet we could watch all three of them on their knees passing him back and forth in a offering of appreciation for helping kill our soldiers so that they could get a chance at the White House.
Matt and Steve I agree with you both.
Bottom line though is you both are right he needs to be a fighter now more than ever.
May 1st, 2007 at 3:17 pmIf your not a Jay Leno fan read what he wrote anyway. My respect and
esteem for him has really increased.
“The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some poll
data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source,
right?
The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with
the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is
unhappy with the performance of the president. In essence 2/3s of the
citizenry just ain’t happy and want a change.
So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, ”What we are so
unhappy about?”
Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day,
7 days a week? Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning
in the summer and heating in the winter? Could it be that 95.4 percent
of these unhappy folks have a job? & nbsp;Maybe it is the ability to
walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than
Darfur has seen in the last year?
Maybe it is the ability to drive from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic
Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through
each state? Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we
would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter? I guess
having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the
world is just not good enough. Or could it be that when we wreck our
car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and
even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.
Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home. You
may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a
group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch
equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family and your
belongings. Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen
TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes , an officer equipped with a gun and
a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against
attack or loss. This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of
bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods
where 90 percent of teenagers own cell phones and computers.
How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy
that are the envy of everyone in the world? Maybe that is what has 67
percent of you folks unhappy.
Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world
has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S. , yet has a great
disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. & nbsp; The most
blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we
don’t have , and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the
good Lord we live here.
I know, I know. What about the president who took us into war and has
no plan to get us out? The president who has a measly 31 percent
approval rating? Is this the same president who guided th e nation in
the dark days after
9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of
recession?
Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book
for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from
terrorist attacks?
The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there
defending you and me? Did you hear how bad the President is on the news
or talk show? Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you
couldn’t take a look around for yourself and see all the good things and
be glad?
Think about it……are you upset at the President because he actually
caused you personal pain OR is it because the “Media” told you he was
failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day.
Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have
volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom.
There is currently no draft in this country. They didn’t have to go.
They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ”general”
discharge, an ”other than honorable” discharge or, worst case
scenario, a
”dishonorable” discharge after a few days in the brig.
So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of
Americans? ;Say what you want but I blame it on the media. If it
bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a
car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch kids selling
lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are
for-profit corporations. They offer what sells , and when criticized,
try to defend their actions by “justifying” them in one way or another.
Just ask why they tried to allow a murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a
book about how he didn’t kill his wife, but if he did he woul d have
done it this way……Insane!
Stop buying the negativism you are fed everyday by the media. Shut off
the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your
bird cage. Then start being grateful for all we have as a country.
There is exponentially more good than bad.
We are among the most blessed peoples on Earth and should thank God
several times a day, or at least be thankful and appreciative.”
“With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding,
severe thunders torms tearing up the country from one end to another,
and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, “Are we sure this
is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?”
Jay Leno

May 2nd, 2007 at 6:32 amAre you sure Leno wrote that? Doesn’t sound like him. I’ve always considered him a liberal fuck.
May 2nd, 2007 at 9:53 amGRAMPS YOU A CORRECT HE IS A LIBERAL AND THAT LETTER IS AN URBAN LEGEND, HERE’S A SITE THAT PROVES ITS A FAKE
http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/hitnail.asp
May 2nd, 2007 at 12:09 pmIt’s an “urban legend” that Leno wrote it. Craig R. Smith is a commentator on WorldNetDaily–he wrote it.
May 2nd, 2007 at 12:33 pmthanks for the correction guys. this was sent to me. I wish people would be be honest about the author. anyways, letterman is a liberal, but ai have to say leno tends to be fairer to conservative types.
anyways the commentary is right on
I get these kind of emails wrongly attributed. i should no better.
