Heard about the same from my son in a call a few months back, when the d’rats shit started flowing after the first of the year.
Unfortunately they cannot complete thier mission in a vacuum, and in this age of global instant communication they are exposed to opinions and information that are designed to cause them to question thier actions, to question thier mission and to question the decisions that put them in a position that risks thier own life and limb. We know how the MSM and the d’rats are eager to see an American defeat (THEY WILL GO TO HELL FOR THIS) and that in fact he has to face not only an enemy on the ground in battle but he also has to face the enemy as it uses the media and legislation as it tries to shape the opinion of the conflict to its favor. The strength that is in him that allowed him to become a warrior has to be called upon again to not accept the defeatist actions of those that have chosen to oppose his mission, those that in fact are willing to sacrifice him and his fellow troops for thier own political power gain. He is going to have to have the strength to face two enemies. Fucking sucks doesn’t it.

Armed uprising against our enemies domestically does not seem out of the question when we really see what is happening.

While watching the History Channel’s series on “The Presidents”, it said Lincolns support was worse than dismal a couple months before Sherman’s march to the sea and the tide turned in the civil War. If he’d had MSM back then and listened to it, Sherman may not have made that campaign, but, he stuck to his plan and saw it through despite the protests. I’m praying that the troops aren’t fallling into that “who wants to be the last killed in this war” frame of mind a lot of our troops had at the end of the Vietnam War. As long as there is Veto power for the Commander in Chief, their missions in Iraq and Afghanistan and the rest of the world will be noble. The wimps on this will never reach the 2/3’s vote needed for defeat, and so far the Dem’s popularity is almost as bad or worse as Bush’s at about 35%. Our troops missions are safe for a year or so and the 2008 election looks good so far to extend that mission, the Dem’s can’t find a winable candidate so far.

Sorry you doubt I ever hunted, not much I can do about that. I was raised on Venicen, Elk meat etc., and hunted before and after Nam. I noticed something missing and it was more work than sport, after talking to some other Vets that noticed the change, they pegged the missing ingredient and it made sense to me. The one style of hunt that got a bit of that adreneline rush back was hunting White Tail deer in the brush tunnels around the Big Horn River with pistols, no room to use a rifle. The deer would not bolt until we were almost on top of them and antlers is all one saw coming, a split second to shot or a stint in the ER. The gamble went from getting skunked on a hunt to possible harm, loved it. Chad, just translate it to I’m just lazy.

all I can say is you will be missed while gone, we are all glad the site will be maintained, but I will be the troops that are in the sand box now are likely glad as heel that you are going back, knowing how much support you have helped them realize they have here stateside. Watch you six, I’m willing to guaranty the troops will help with that as well…
