Pat Tillman And The Left

Greg
Even when war is good, it’s bad. And when it’s bad it’s hell.
Case in point – former NFL player Pat Tillman was killed in battle. Worse, he was the victim of friendly fire. Even worse, his investigation was mishandled and messy, probably due to a general panic over killing a well-known hero. But what can be worse than that? How about the left using Tillman’s tragic death for political gain?
What kills me is that the left, as a rule, holds folks in the military in contempt–They think that the troops are ignorant pawns trained to kill. But if a patriot can be used to undermine the very beliefs or institutions he himself tried to protect, then the left embraces him. That’s what’s happening with Tillman.
On some leftwing blogs, idiots like to note that Tillman was a fan of Noam Chomsky, an intensely anti-American sociopath who believes terrorists are right. They claim that Tillman was scheduled to meet Chomsky, and that he was an outspoken Bush critic who planned to vote for John Kerry. The point of all this? To bolster their conspiracy theory that Tillman was killed, and his death covered up, to silence his anti-war views.

People do not give up million dollar careers to join the military because they are anti-war. Of course everyone on this site has the common sense to know that but im just saying.

August 2nd, 2007 at 11:17 amLefties hate the military, and somehow they now like Pat Tilman? And Tilman was going to meet with an anti-american crazoid? I don’t think so.
See what smoking dope does to the human brain? It takes a mushy-headed idiot and turns them into bigger mushy-headed idiots aka shit for brains.
August 2nd, 2007 at 11:26 amThe left are ghouls. They rob graves. Moutha, Bela Pelosi and grim reaper Harry. Need I say more?
August 2nd, 2007 at 1:05 pmYeah, he gave up an NFL career and became a Ranger because he was anti-war. There have been 7 investigations of this immensely tragic event. The dems can’t let him rest in peace. They have to use his family, like they used Cindy Sheehan, for political gain. I’ve finally figured dout what liberalism is all about: control. They want total control (”power”) over everything. They use anything and everything for politcal gain, no matter what it is. They are control freaks. They want to tell you what kind of a washing machine you can buy, what kind of a car you can drive, no smoking because they said so, and so on. The anti-war thing is because they don’t believe in war, and they want total control over the government so they can make sure we never have war, dam the consequences. That’s why they so resemble Stanlinsts–totalitarians. Because they are control freaks.

I object(and so does the blunt I’m smoking)! Not all of us potheads are John Stewart in Half-Baked. “You ever seen a twenty dollar bill on weed, man!”
August 2nd, 2007 at 1:20 pmfucking lunatic assholes
Pat Tillman died with honor in battle for this nation. Plain and simple.
The fact that it was fratricide and the release of information was mishandled by the Army does not in any way diminish him or his service. To suggest otherwise confirms your an asshole.
August 2nd, 2007 at 1:30 pmI do not know his views, or whether he was a chomsky fan-I DO know he oviously loved his country and it bothers me how he is being used
I think if the Army had been more honest in the beginning some of the cover up nonsense could have been avoided-just because it was friendly fire didn’t make him any less brave.
August 2nd, 2007 at 1:47 pmPat Tillman was a man of honor on the field of play and the field of battle. He was a man of conscience, and if he was against the Iraq War I believe he would have exhibited class and dignity but above all as an advocate to minimize loss of US Troops in whatever way he believed needed to be done. He had been there done that and was valiant, and while his brother who was in the valley the day his brother died has been outspoken in regards to the handling of notification and the details he has not let himself or his family become tools for Code Pink and MoveOn, not do I believe his brother would have if he were alive today.
The left mocked Tillman when he was alive, but now revel in his memory that somehow he was disillusioned. He read Chomsky and from what I have learned about him he was well read having many interests always looking for answers. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had read Mao’s “Little Red Book”, Tolstoy’s “War and Peace”, or even Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice”. So he read Chomsky, big deal, is still doesn’t make him the War on Terror’s Ron Kovic that the left insists him to be remembered as.
Pat Tillman was bigger than that, and bigger than these clowns and their crocodile tears they shed for him, because if had been remembered as gung-ho about every aspect of this conflict the Kos Kids would fight and tripping over each other to piss on him grave.
