You know, G-d bless and keep Pat Tillman (and his Sheehan-like family), but I am really tired of everyone acting as if “the military fucked-up” cases like this have only happened in this war.
Refresh my memory … Was the Clinton Blackhawk Down fuck- up ever really disected like this? How about the Jimmy Carter Iran Hostage Rescue fuck-up? (Of which I happen to know the brother of one of the commanders of that flop who just wanted to wrap his hands around Carter’s neck afterward). How about the numerous WWII fuck-ups, beginning with near 3000 dead by the end of D-Day???
Kucinich is a fucking ass-clown.
August 1st, 2007 at 5:23 pmKucinich is a sleezy little man. He sits there on his throne and accuses Rumsfeld of covering up Abu Gharaib and the Tillman case, with no evidence, no witnesses and no sworn statements to back up his assertions.
Rumsfeld should have gotten up out of his seat and slapped that puke across his face.
Rumsfeld does not, nor does any Defsec (except McNamara) micromanage every aspect of the military. The chain of command underneath the OSD is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the military.
As usual Kucinich and company are looking for needles in a haystack and comming up with nothing.
Kucinich has the IQ of an emotionally retarded fifth grader. Up against a smart guy like Rumsfeld, he’s meat on a fish hook.
Maybe the next time YouTube sponsors a debate Kucinich could don a dunce cap and pretend that he’s back in school again.
August 1st, 2007 at 5:24 pmI wish this case would just go away. I doubt there was a huge conspiracy thing going on anyway. Pat Tillman is a hero, but I really hope his family would just let him rest in peace before this case turns into another circus.
August 1st, 2007 at 5:28 pmPat Tillman lived a died the life that he wanted. He played football like a man on a mission. He lived above self. He was a team player.
And just as in football he lived his short military life the same way. And he died, not cringing behind cover, but attacking the enemy who was shooting at his buddies.
Any way you slice it, Pat Tillman was a helluva man, and a hero in this war.
His parents should be celebrating his life and move on with their own lives. Playing the Cindy Sheehan card won’t bring him back. So quit it already. Get some grief counseling and move on with your lives. Let Pat Tilman rest in peace. An honorable warrior deserves no less respect.
August 1st, 2007 at 6:01 pmDennis the Menace.. What a fucking embarassment. How the shit heads in Cleveland/Cuyahoga County can keep electing him is beyond belief. It has got to be the water. I know it is.. Look, he was the Mayor of Cleveland and so was the cry baby, turncoat Voinovich. I rest my case. Call the EPA, get that water tested.

August 1st, 2007 at 6:23 pmHey Dan (the infidel),
August 1st, 2007 at 11:29 pmI have a few friends on the left that are teling me that there is now documentation that Pat Tillman was shot at close range by, within 10 yards,an M247.
I am a Jarhead that played with the 247 before the grunts in the army did. If you can help me refute this I would appreciate it.

Howie:
In the first place it is a chaplain who misquoted Tilman’s buddy and a coroner who disputes a Spec4’s testimony. Tillman according to the Spec4 was in the process of attacking the enemy. What Tilman didn’t know or may have known, was that he was caught up in a crossfire between two counterattacking elements of Rangers.
He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Had Tillman hit the dirt like the Spec4 did, he’d still be alive.
The Spec4 said that those shots came from an area that was at least 50 meters away. And no one was aiming at Tillman. The shots were suppose to keep the enemy’s heads down. They were fired over the cover that Tilman and his Spec4 partner were behind.
As soon as Tilman got up, to signal that he was a friendly, is when he got hit.
So all this talk of paperwork is suspect. We have the testimony of the chaplain that conflicts with the eyewitness testimony of those that were there. And the question has not been asked of the coroner if those three shots could have been fired from a distance of 50 meters instead of 10 as he alleges in his report.
And oh by the way, this incident has been investigated three ways from Sunday. If there was malicious intent on the part of anyone on that hill that day, it would have already been prosecuted by now.
It hasn’t. And it won’t. Because it was a freaking accident.
August 2nd, 2007 at 6:35 amIt doesn’t diminish Tilman’s legacy one bit. The investigation just proves that second guessing civilians shouldn’t leave their day jobs anytime soon.
I am proud of Tillman’s service, yet I am disgraced by the fact his celebrity is acting as a platform for mockery of his death. I think about how many men’s stories are not being told because we must microscope every detail of an alleged accident. He is gone.
However, I don’t think anyone wishes to deny his family’s right to grieve. Anger is, of course, a step in the grieving process that everyone must go through. They will find acceptance in time. I only hope the Lord blesses them with peace.
