Most telling sign with all of these photos of Bush in Iraq is the lack of flak jackets.

he is in the middle of a major airbase, not main st. in fallujah. I think a lot of progress has been made but the flak jackets don't say much considering where he is.

D_Mac:

Whether GW is at an airbase or main street its still a comabt zone. The lack of ballistic vests tells me their is/are a lack of ballistic incidents. A sure sign that things are going well.

Speaking of which, if I'm not mistaken, a couple of weeks ago I saw clips of Petraeous and his staff going into a souk, also without vests.

Looks good to me.

Those vests are not really needed on post, if they can get thru the security on post then your screwed anyway. only thing you have to fear on post is indirrect fire from mortars, or direct fire from them if they have managed to get some pace counts while posing as TCN's on post.

...Let me say again, what we want and what we will work for is a government in Iraq that represents and respects its people not represses them, and one committed to living in peace with its neighbors. In the century we are leaving America has often made the difference between tyranny and freedom, between chaos and community, between fear and hope. In this case, as so often in the past, the reason America can make the difference is the patriotism and professionalism of our military. Once again, its strength, its readiness, its capacity, is advancing America’s interest and the cause of world peace. We must remain vigilant, strong and ready, here and wherever our values and interests are at stake. Thanks to our military we will be able to do so.

Bill Clinton ~ November 15, 1998

My guess is, that Bush or Cheney wrote this speach for Clinton, someone should hand this to Hillary for a talking point the next time she's throwing back drinks with Letterman in New York.

BAH;
Doncha know? The Ds have decided to MoveOn from their previous pro-US pro-military positions, which were clearly errors induced by evil dupesters, like Bushitler, Neo-Condoleeza, and the Elders of Zion.
