As soldier and a Father that has a Son fighting in Iraq I give what ever comfort and condolences for the lost of your Son. I know exactly how you feel when your own Country so called citizens sat there, listen,and clapping to this ignorant evil Ahmadinejad speech. It broke my heart that we have sunk so low to allow this to happen after six years ago we have lost almost 3,000 good people on 9-11. What you have to understand that when you have roughly 1% of the population serving in the military and their is no draft they (the students) don’t feel the pain the way we feel worrying day in and day out about our Sons and Daughters in harms way. Columbia University forever stain their image of what they say on fare and balance free speech. Free speech, yep, thats when the Minute Man representative came to speak and was shouted down and nearly got beat up while the so called security just stood there and smirk! Yep, the same university would not allowed ROTC and recruiting on campus because of the policy of “Don’t ask, Don’t tell. And yet they allowed this human rights abuser speak who’s country fascist government would jailed and killed anyone who is a homosexual or speaks against them. This evil man is directly responsible for sending 5th Islamic insurgents, rockets, new and improve IED’s that MY SON and his FELLOW BAND OF BROTHERS & SISTERS have to deal with day in and day out. If any harm comes to my Son I will indirectly hold the university responsible! May God have Mercy on their souls for not standing up to a petty Tyrant!

The moveon NYT full page ad followed up by this event are downsides for the left.

Read the Rasmussen poll results about the Moveon ad and you will sense the shift.

All the power brokers on the left Pelosi/Reid and Co are silent on the issue.

For the real Dems and not the nutroots variants that want to claim they are now the center, this is unsettling as evidenced by the Rasmussen poll.

This is one of those hard milestone moments that will stick in the back of many people’s minds more than the softer talking points that will be turned and churned during the election run up process.

To the parents in the article, I am so sorry for you I wish you the best. To the ssgduke54 I know what you mean about the disconnect, but not everyone is suited for military lfe, I know I’m not. I agree, we need to show the troops we support them.
