Report: Rebellious Turkish Military Aided Isreal’s Attack On Syria
JPost & YNet:
Turkey provided Israel with intelligence on Syria prior to last week’s alleged IAF flyover into the country, Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida claimed on Thursday.
Al-Jareeda quoted several sources as saying that Israel and senior Turkish military personnel coordinated Israel’s invasion of Turkish airspace during the operation to send a message to the ruling Justice and Development party, or AKP. There is serious tension between the Turkish military and the new President, and there has been much talk of a possible coup. Senior military officials in Turkey, most of whom are secular, oppose the Islamist party’s platform.
According to the sources, AKP member and newly-elected President Abdullah Gul is not doing enough to prevent the transfer of arms from Iran to terror groups in Syria and Lebanon via Turkey.
According to the report, the country had a central role in delivering precise information regarding targets in Syria that were to be hit by Israeli planes. Further, the report claimed that the Israeli pilots were given authorization by the Turkish army to use its airspace in order to carry out the operation.
Sources told Al-Jarida that Turkish intelligence did not coordinate the move with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. “Coordination of the [release of information] occurred far away from the political echelon,” it said.
The Israeli and Turkish armies share a strong relationship that has been felt through several joint exercises and weapons sales.

September 13th, 2007 at 4:50 pmWhat is he(Muallem) going to do without an army to back him up…Israel’s silence is basically saying “shut the fuck up”
Turkey is the closest an islamic country ever came to democracy. Meaning, a military dictatorship that created a semblance of a functioning state, then made the mistake of having elections. Naturally, every good muslim voted for sharia.
If Kemal’d had the balls to abolish Islam along with the Caliphate, and insituted something else as a state religion (unfortunate but necessary to break Islam’s grip on the populace), things might’ve worked out differently.
As it is, either the military will launch a coup or sharia will dominate a member (for the moment) of NATO. No way in hell the EU will let them in now.
BTW Pat, seen what’s been going on in Europe? Brussels banned an anti-Islamization rally on 9/11. They held it anyway. It was a peaceful rally, many of the protesters were wearing friggin suits.
The police did their best Bull Connor impression, beating the shit out of the right wing politicians in particular. Water cannons, canines, mounted cops, the works. The head of a party, that opposes muslim immigration, wearing a suit and tie, was in the middle of a TV interview when a bunch of cops grabbed him and dragged him away for ‘re-education’.
The EU is based in Brussels, and is run by a bunch of wannabe Stalins who mourn the breakup of the USSR.
The muslims had their own parades. The mayor had no problem with that.

September 13th, 2007 at 5:48 pmThe Turkish Army was given the job by Kemal Attaturk to keep his vision for seperation of Mosque and State. Any threat to that vision has ALWAYS been met by brute force by the Turkish military. Glad to see they still have Kemal Attaturk’s vision and are still cooperating with Israel.
Maybe the Turkish military is thinking what I’m thinking: Fuck Syria.
September 13th, 2007 at 5:48 pmDan, don’t gararise yourself with propaganda, Turkey is an opportunist alliee, but Turks have the dream to recover their former empire ; one day, they will ! they’ll wait the necessary time for it !
