Sunday Night Football: Bashage In The Mud…Woohoo!

With John Madden on analysis tonight, what quarter do you think he’ll say “I really like this, this is old school. Guys getting muddy, getting their faces smashed into the mud. It’s like the old days.”
heh heh…
Open thread, folks. AFC North match up…can the Steelers keep playoff hopes alive…I have to say I have always liked Big Ben, he’s always seemed to me like a Pro-bowl/Superbowl caliber quarterback. And although the Bengals are looking like the Bengals of old (and by that I mean they suck! hah!), that Palmer guy hasn’t been all that shabby.
Oakland won today! They even played first round draft choice JaMarcus Russell, who they are easing into the organization in the hopes of starting him next year. That puke Al Davis (my grandpa never forgave him for moving the Raiders to L.A.) is grooming his latest multi-million dollar investment very slowly. I have to say its different than the usual Raider thing, we always took old guys that seemed to be washed up and watched them bloom with a second wind to their careers (Plunkett? Gannon?), so this new young thoroughbred-type of QB thing is new to us Raider fans in the Black Hole.

December 2nd, 2007 at 5:54 pmBashman,
Not looking too good for the men of steel tonight. Big Ben just picked off. I have high hopes that they will be able to put the smackdown on the Pats next week, but after the last two weeks and seeing how they are playing tonight, I’m not very hopeful.
December 2nd, 2007 at 5:55 pmHERE WE GO STEELERS!
December 2nd, 2007 at 6:14 pmwe don’t get a lot of us football over here, how are the greenbay packers doing?
December 2nd, 2007 at 6:24 pm@UK
It is very possible that we will see the Packers in the NFC championship game, although Favre looked pretty out of character Thursday night, even taken out of the game, his replacement (geez, rarely ever hear anything about anybody replacing Favre in the last 15 years) actually looked ok, and probably has a bright future.
If I were asked to predict today I would say we will see a Dallas vs Green Bay NFC Champ game and a Patriots vs Colts AFC Champ game with the Super Bowl being Patriots vs …hmmm, hard to say, all depends on Romo and favre and where they play. Favre is 0-9 in Texas Stadium and Dallas is 0-5 at Lambeau.
December 2nd, 2007 at 6:47 pmJust in case you are not aware Bashman, the road to the Superbowl will go through Dallas if it is again Dallas and Greenbay.
December 2nd, 2007 at 7:52 pm@cclezel…
You know, you’re right! That loss the other night gives Dallas home field if they meet in post…
Hmmm..odds go up for Dallas. But of course we all know the old NFL axiom “On any given Sunday…”
And I ain’t talking Hollywood movies here.

December 2nd, 2007 at 8:22 pmBen was the quarterback for Miami University in Oxford, literally like 15 minutes from my house. But Im a Bengals fan and cant stand the Shittsburgh Stealers. Sorry, it goes with the territory
December 2nd, 2007 at 9:58 pmBut I also have to add that it really is one of the best rivalries in the NFL. I have respect for Pittsburgh and its always been fun.
December 2nd, 2007 at 10:04 pmCome on Kurt! The Shittsburgh Stealers?! You can do better than that! Put a little effort and originality into it! This is one of the ugliest rivalries in the NFL after all! Victory is sweet. Oh, and we dey.
December 3rd, 2007 at 8:51 amI can’t watch football this week. Not after the loss to the Giants. If only Hester had caught that ball…or they’d ruled Toomer’s TD hit the turf…
