"Extending freedom from the political sphere to the economic one and building the global architecture, such as free trade agreements, to support those relationships can — and should — be a top priority for the United States in the 21st century."

Mr. Rumsfeld I whole heartedly disagree with the thought that we should allow corporations to represent US by leading our foreign policy and dictating national interests.

When our government grows the balls to revoke the citizenship of any person or entity that acts contrary to the interests of the people who stand behind the constitution of these united states, then that government could be seen as governing for the common good of the country as a whole, but to allow corporations to run rough shod over the US people hiring illegals, exporting jobs, refusing to secure the boarder all so you globalists can glean the profits from the new political frontier of free trade agreements is nothing less than pure BULLSHIT Sir.
If you want to prosper America, turn Iraq (and any other country) into the next japan or Germany so we can trade with them, but don't GUT this fine country with any more free trade agreements. We need a government that can govern not sell out. ZIPS IN THE WIRE.

"Today’s global order is threatened not only by violent extremists, rogue regimes, failing states and aspiring despots such as Chávez. It is also threatened by the complacent assumption that our domestic and global institutions, in their present form, can meet these growing menaces."

Global Order folks here it comes, a western hemisphere with no borders, cheap labor and the elite corporations will run it all.
I think we can trade with Columbia without GUTTING ourselves very easily, just give them preferred trading status and help them build infrastructure and a strong defense force.
