Obama Gets Huge Endorsement: Bash’s Mom
So my dear old hippie Ma in an Orlando “Retirement Community” calls me up today and we’re talking and I says “Hey, Ma, did ya vote yesterday?”
“Of course,” she says.
“Wait, Ma, lemme guess, ” I says. “Obama, right?”
“Yes! I just love him, he’s so great!”
“That’s nice, Ma. So what do you like about him, Ma?”
“He’s so enthusisatic, and Ted Kennedy likes him, and little Caroline. Oh that poor little sweet girl. You are voting for him, right?”
“No, Ma.”
“Just kidding,” she says.
“Oh, did you see the endorsement the other day, ma?”
“No, but I heard about it.”
“I see. Do you know any of his plans, where he stands? That kind of thing, Ma?”
“Well, no.”
“Then why’re you voting for him, Ma?”
“Because he’s the best Democrat, and he’s young, and I don’t like Hillary.”
I go easy on my Ma. I love her to pieces, but she has always been that way, and I don’t hassle her about it.
What’s scary is how many people are just like her. They have no clue where these candidates stand on the issues, they may hear one or two tidbits of information that they latch onto, and that’s it.
Scary.
