Baghdad, Feb 28, (VOI)- A police force killed a senior al-Qaeda leader along with nine of his aides in northern Baghdad, interior ministry said on Thursday.

“Police forces killed Abu Talha al-Maghrabi, senior al-Qaeda leader, in al-Tharthar region in northern Baghdad during a track down operation,” General Abdul Karim Khalaf, director of the national command centre, told Aswat al-Iraq – Voices of Iraq (VOI).

“They killed also nine of his aides, including five Arabs and four Iraqis,” he added.

“The attack caused no casualties among the forces,” the general said.
