Remind me to tell you the rattlesnake story later. Too tired right now.

Today, Bush is going to give a major speech to the American public ( you, me, all those people that we see ) and announce that Army tours are going to be cut to 12 months. Which is good. But don’t fool yourself too much y’all, as stressful as it all is, you’ll find many a man that’s been out there wax romantically about it, and often most specifically not for romantic reasons but one practical one, and one kind of crazy one, and a few very serious ones. The practical one is the simplicity of life, even in a combat zone. I’ve had many a Marine tell me about how nice it is to not have to worry about all the many details of the business of stateside life, to have the great singular focus of the missions in front of you….the crazy part being the excitement; as strange as it sounds there is some quintessential connection to the universe, that you feel just about greater than anything else you’ve ever felt, when your day is quite literally about surviving the hunt being conducted for you, and simultaneously executing the hunt being conducted against the enemy. And then there is the sense of purpose, and the sense of brotherhood, and not just of brotherhood as a concept or shared feeling, but as a shared life or death experience, an activity, to band together and execute… no one for the greatest part wishes to be out there longer, but at the same time, there is magic even in the darkness. Always.

The essence of Al Gore’s legacy: 1. Throwing America into a bloodless civil war that rages to this day by trying to steal the election and then claiming Bush did, and 2. being a prime force in the destruction of the world food supply and economy by volunteering for the job of Prime Mover in the Global Warming Fraud in order to medicate the psycho-emotional-ego trauma of 1, while simultaneously making millions in a fraudulent scheme of selling carbon credits. He wasn’t going to get Clinton-sized book and speaking fees, so he had no choice really. Which professions are generally noted in the field of psychiatry as being the three most infested with psychopaths? Politicians, doctors and lawyers. Remember, until you really get to know someone, sincerity, charm and intelligence are all as much a sign of a psychopath as they are of a good person. Cheerful thought, I know…think about it, it could be no other way. A psychopath, an evil person, could never succeed in the essential task of all their crimes, which is the securing of someone’s confidence, if their primary personality traits were unappealing as opposed to appealing.

You know, if you think about it, neither Hillary or Obama can win the general election. Thing like, “Teed up for dems….economy….” it’s just chatter. There is not now nor has there ever been a Dem economic plan of any meaning or substance outside of FDR’s stop-gap government employer programs….and if you think about it, things like the WPA were not set up to replace private enterprise with a government agency as the Left’s current social programs are, they were set up to because there wasn’t enough private enterprise - they were filling a void. There’s a thing called the exception to every rule. FDR’s socialism was an exception because it’s long-term purpose was not to replace private enterprise, it was to jump-start it.

Neither Hillary or Obama can win. Everybody knows.

Barely slept for ’bout a day. So please don’t excuse my gibberish as typos or mere forgetfulness in terms of reviewing and rewriting. It’s gibberish.

Okay, so to begin the rattlesnake story. Three of my buddies headed out to the desert to shoot the new $8K fully auto, short barrel M4 that one of them had. One former member of the 82nd Airborne who served and saw much real shit in Kosovo and Afghanistan, one Marine now working for a private Security company, and one used car salesman. This is not a set-up to a joke, this is a true story from yesterday.

12:41 P.M.

It’s a pretty funny match up. The Marine was the driver of my LAV in the Triangle of Death days, the civilian, we’ll call him Jerry, is a funny, extremely affable party-hardy kind of guy, on the fast track for management at the car company where he works. Not a used car salesman, just wrote that line cos it fit in as funny for the crew’s description. But he’s a civilian, loose, without any of the edges of the two very hardcore military guys he’s with. They get out there do some typically kinda dangerous four-wheelin, just because the countryside beckons, and it’s in their blood since has been the lifestyle since childhood, so they do, despite the overwhelming and intoxicating pull of that fully auto shortbarrel with the aimpoint. Of course, they get stuck, get some strangers to tow, and now it’s shootin time. They get out….
