BAGHDAD (AP) - An airstrike destroyed a house in the southern city of Basra, killing a senior Iranian-linked Special Groups militant, the U.S. military said Thursday.

The attack comes as the Iraqi government apparently shifts gears in its offensive against Shiite militias, staging more targeted raids instead of attacking the gunmen head-on after Al Sadr told his forces to stop fighting.

The district where the senior terrorist was killed has seen some of the fiercest fighting in the offensive that began March 25.

Russell said one militant was killed and a house was destroyed but provided no further details about whether U.S. or British aircraft were used in the attack.

Let me be really clear. Islam is not a religion. It is a cult started by a man who wanted to conquer as much as he could and decided that using the Word of God to both motivate and justify his followers killing, raping and pillaging for him, along with doing whatever he said, was the best way to achieve his ends. We’ve seen these cults come and go throughout history, and it is simply intellectually indefensible and a crime against not merely intellectual freedom, but more importantly against the human intellect itself, for anyone to condemn me for not recognizing Islam as a religion, and for hating it in the same fashion I would hate any violent, non-humane ideology. Let me be extremely clear: FUCK ISLAM.
