China Calls Nancy Pelosi “Disgusting”

Wow…so it’s not just Pork Fried Rice with shoyu and Deep Fried Prawns that endears me to the Chinese. Now it’s our mutual disgust of Nancy Pelosi.
I’m finding that kind of cool. Yeah, yeah, I know China’s government has miles, hell, light years to go before they sleep and they’ll probably all turn into three eyed mutants due to the industrial toxins that are poironing their country as we speak, and their record of human rights is a horrible one, ideed, and they have hordes of punks mining for gold in World of Warcraft all dressed up as female night elves which pretty much s up the economy of a given realm and blah blah blah…
ButI’m willing to put all of that on the back burner today, simply because they have publicly said that Nancy Pelosi is…
“Disgusting.”
In the spirit of strange bedfellows and your enemy is my enemy, at least for now kind of thing, I will refer to Nancy Pelosi as:
“Hanjian.”
BEIJING  Bristling at criticism in the run-up to the Summer Olympics, China is lashing back at its foreign critics  by name.
Earlier this week, the state Xinhua news agency called House Speaker Nancy Pelosi “disgusting.”
A mood of angry nationalism has spurred government officials to lash out at foreign critics, trying to stay ahead of public resentment  even fury  that foreigners may spoil the Summer Olympics party with what some see as unwarranted criticism.
Several foreign journalists, including correspondents for USA Today and The Times of London, say they’ve received death threats.
In a commentary Sunday, Xinhua said Pelosi, who met last month in India with the Dalai Lama, the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, “is detested by the Chinese people.” It accused her of displaying a “stubborn anti-China sentiment and uneasiness about China’s peaceful rise.”
