April 17th, 2008 at 12:23 pmInbreeding is like making a copy of a copy. Most of the really nasty genetic diseases are recessive, meaning you need a copy of the bad gene from both parents. Considering the daughter got half her genes from her father, that makes it very likely their kid will get any defects on boths strands of the double helix. You’d think the fact that their first kid died because of that, but maybe they have too many stupidity genes.
You’ll find most taboos exist for very good reason. The desire to tear them down is not a sign of a rational mind.
