A line from an old song:
“Give any one species too much rope and they’ll it up!”
Switch “species” with “candidate” and it is a consolation, however small, that just…
(cue Mr. Rogers: “By your just you being you.”)…
…by letting Obama be himself, we can be assured that he won’t be the next President of the United States. His past is too shady, his associations too unclear, and if he keeps on revealing to everybody just how liberal he really is…well, even the swing voters will be turned off by him. No matter how many white people they stick in the crowd.
Check this out:
Mayhill Fowler has more from Obama’s remarks at a San Francisco fundraiser Sunday, and they include an attempt to explain the resentment in small-town Pennsylvania that won’t be appreciated by some of the people whose votes Obama’s seeking:
“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them…And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.
And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”
That’s pretty broad list of things to explain with job loss.
Karl Rove Nailed him down good on it also…
