No Walking The Plank For Pirated Crew
MADRID, Spain - The Spanish government says the crew of a fishing boat hijacked by pirates off the coast of Somalia has been freed.
Deputy Prime Minister Maria Teresa Fernandez de la Vega says the 26 crew members onboard the 250-foot vessel from Spain’s Basque region are sailing back home.
De la Vega says the release was achieved through negotiation. She said Saturday that the ship’s owners and the Spanish government collaborated to find a successful end to the hijacking.
