    I agree, this is sad and disturbing. Either one…killing a turtle for no other reason then to drink it’s blood, or torturing bears like this. You don’t have to be a PETA freak to believe that animals that God created deserve a certain amount of respect. Especially considering that the vast majority of them will leave you alone if you leave them alone.

    I would personally much rather kill a jihadi or other enemy of the USA, then kill an animal just for the sake of killing it. Since I’m too old to go back into the military, I don’t have that option (unless they raise the age limit one more time!). So I target shoot as often as I can afford to. Having said that, I would kill an animal if forced to defend myself or my loved ones, or those who couldn’t defend themselves. Or if I absolutely needed it for sustenance for survival.

    I would never encroach on any other Americans right to hunt. My only caveat would be to do it humanely, and for the right reasons. Have enough respect for creatures that God created initially as our companions, not our food (see Genesis; humans were vegetarians before the flood), to kill them humanely, and then eat them (venison is excellent by the way). Preferably with a high powered rifle of large enough caliber to put them down quickly, with a shot to the head, or behind the shoulder in the heart or lungs.
