More feral kids. Not one of those ‘children’ (17 year olds are children?) that watched the fight had the decency to step in and stop it. And if it is true that students blocked the driver, they should have charges leveled against them.
I for one see these packs of feral kids a threat to life and limb and would have no problem putting them down as you would a rabid dog loose in the street.
To the animals that bred those rats, nice job; now we get to pay for the housing and monitoring of your stains.
April 28th, 2008 at 7:23 amSo what is the penalty for assault these days–a three day suspension?
Perp should never be allowed on the bus again–an administrative action. Let his parents figure out how to get him there and back, unless he really does get expelled. What does it take to get expelled anymore? Draw a picture of a gun or question global warming?
April 28th, 2008 at 8:28 amSuspended, my ASS! Expel the little bastard!
As the parent of a “Special Needs” child I have gone out of my way to protect her from this kind of thing.
It’s my responsibility, as bestowed upon me by G-d, to do just that.
You cannot shield or protect your “Special Needs” child from everything in life, especially if you are determined to include them into the real world and society as much as possible … But you should anticipate such problems.
It took me a couple years to allow my daughter to ride the school bus. She does so in grade school along with other special needs kids on a separate bus. She is in a separate classroom at school, but spends certain times of the school day WITH the typical/regular grade class that she would be in were she not Down Syndrome. It’s called “inclusion” … and it benefits not only my daughter, but the “typical” students who need to grow up and understand it is their responsibility not to judge or treat people as beneath them and are expendable for whatever purpose … in this case for the lurid pleasure of beating up someone who obviously didn’t have the strength or mentality to participate equally in a one-on-one fight with him.
What I am MORE pissed about is the fact not one of those other kids had the heart or soul to intervene on this poor kid’s behalf … Chilling … just chilling … the next generation of coldhearted voyeurs …
And perhaps the video didn’t go on long enough to show such, but where the fuck was the bus driver?
April 28th, 2008 at 8:43 amyou’d think someone would step in???
April 28th, 2008 at 8:48 amThe system is broken and rather than replace or revamp it we ignore the symptoms and allow the decay to make the problems larger.
Interesting site, this

April 28th, 2008 at 9:32 amAll the kids who didnt lift a finger to intervene should be arrested as well.

April 28th, 2008 at 7:51 pmI am so appalled by this story. FYI my day job is you got it! I drive a special ed school buss. This would never happen on my watch. This story implies that there was a mix of regular ed and special ed students. This should never be the case. And yes, where the heck was the driver?
Thank God the worst I get on my bus (for I am in total control at all times) is , “bus driver, Johnny is making fun of me. “And even that, I do not tolerate.
So for all the school-bus drivers who go to work and drive their run as the most important event happening in the world,(and it is)
sorry to you and all who have a child on a spcial ed school bus.
