The Official U.S. Syria Reactor Video - “Not For Peaceful Purposes”
(Reuters ) - Apr 25 - The U.S government releases a narrated video showing a secret nuclear reactor in Syria.
This video was released by U.S. officials on Thursday (24th April 2008) as part of briefings to lawmakers and reporters, during which the central claim was stated that Syria had been constructing a nuclear reactor with help from North Korea and that it was ‘not intended for peaceful purposes.’
Syria has denied the U.S. charge as ‘a fantasy’ while North Korea has previously denied proliferation.
The head of the UN’s nuclear watchdog the IAEA said it would treat the report with the ’seriousness it deserves.’
Israel destroyed the suspected reactor in an air strike on September 6, 2007 in an operation initially shrouded in secrecy.
