This is beautiful, and full-on American…

Here is a little about me… I am a veteran. I was an infantryman and a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. A quarter century ago I took part in the invasion of Grenada. More relevant; I am the father of a United States Army Ranger who served in the 1/75 Ranger Battalion. Adam served from 2003 to 2007 in the U.S. Army with three tours spanning 14 months in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan of six months.

On Thanksgiving Day, 2005, I was in Guam with my wife and youngest son when I received a call on my cell phone from one of my oldest friends. Kevin is an officer in the Army and on that day he was serving in a SOCOM unit in Iraq. I thought it was a Thanksgiving call but he seemed quite serious. Almost immediately he gravely said, “Adam has been hurt.”

I remember that moment like it just happened. I was in the backyard of the parents of a friend who had invited us to Thanksgiving dinner. My friend’s mother, a Japanese immigrant, was proudly showing my wife and me her garden. Her husband, children and their spouses were all around. I dropped to my knees. This was “The Call.” The yard swirled and my wife knew what it meant. She screamed “What?!” and ran to me. Kevin continued, “Adam was wounded on a combat assault. He fell of the fast rope at least 40 feet. Both is legs and heels are broken. He was medevaced to my location and I met him when they brought him in.” I didn’t know what to say. He went on, “He will be transported to Germany and from there to Walter Reed in D.C. He will be okay.”

My son did recover. Six months later he returned to Iraq and to his job of kicking in doors and dragging jihadist scum out of their holes. I went back to lying awake at nights waiting for another, far worse, call. The call never came and my son is now out of the Army and in college. He definitely “saw the elephant.” He has experienced what it means to have men desperately try to kill him and fail. He has experienced killing up close and personal. He has been wounded and recovered to fight again. He is proud of his service and I am proud of him.

So watch Olbermann below and think about my experience as you listen. This pompous, melodramatic piece of apparently believes he speaks for parents like me and my wife. This tick, this parasite, believes he is qualified to speak for the parents of the soldiers killed and wounded in battle. He is as wrong as he can possibly be. He dooesn’t speak for soldiers and he sure as hell doesn’t speak for the parents of soldiers.

Olbermann, if by some chance you read this, understand me well: You sicken me you worm. I wouldn’t piss down your throat if your black heart was on fire. You don’t speak for me. Here is another insight for you prick: I do care about the president’s golf game; at least I care more about it than I care whether you live or die. You aren’t qualified to tell me what it is to be a soldier. You aren’t qualified to tell me what it is to be the parent of a soldier. You aren’t qualified to open your mouth and opine on this topic.

Now, having said that, watch Olbermann act like an idiot below. I only made it to about 1:30 before I shut the ass down. If you can go further, you have a stronger stomach than mine.
