BREAKING: al-Qaeda In Yemen Kidnap Two Japanese Tourists
Two female Japanese tourists and their guide have been kidnapped in Yemen, local officials have said.
The three were seized by gunmen in the town of Maarib, 176km (109 miles) east of the capital Sanaa.
Two Belgian tourists and their guide were killed in a shooting in eastern Yemen in January.
The authorities blamed al-Qaeda militants for their abduction. Yemen’s government has been fighting Islamists with the help of US special forces.
