I thought Out of Africa was a great film.

Hated that transvestite film though.

I agree, Out Of Africa was beautifully filmed, and the music was incredible. Redford was amazed that Merryl had Limoges china in Africa. My mother was so taken by that, that she bought Limoges for me (I lived in a very remote place high in the mountains at the time, and I’m sure my mother thought that might as well be Africa!) I still have the Limoges!

Sydney Pollack was a witty, funny person. He will be missed. Tootsie was a comedy about a guy trying to work as an actor, but the parts are all for women. Very funny.

I’m unsure about this, but I can’t remember Pollack making or appearing in a “hate America” film…never-the-less “Out of Africa” was a masterpiece and not because the video’s on my shelf.

Out of Africa - whose musical score is so overwhelming, it maybe the best piece of orchestral music I have ever heard

Three Days of the Condor. Great 70’s spy movie.

Interesting thing in that movie was that the CIA headquaters in NYC was shown as being in the WTCenter
