    Its also a 7.62×51mm. Nice.

    Now if the Army would only adopt the H&K M416. That sucker can fire despite being covered in sand or water. Has much of the advantages of the AK in that respect. It also disperses gas and heat reducing your signature.

    Impressive weapon, but I am still in love with the custom sniper rifle Edward Fox used in “The Day of the Jackal.” I’ve always wondered if that gun was actually operational or if it was just a movie prop, and where it is today.

    Bash or someone here should upload the scene where the Jackal sights in the weapon and shoots the melon with a mercury-filled bullet. Total gun porn! :mrgreen:

    These weapons should be able to be destroyed in the field quickly if our troops need to egress them in an emergency. This is so they are not captured and later used against us or reverse engineered.

    It’s nice — and an improvement over the Remington 700. However, in the wide open spaces ya need more legs than 800 meters! WW-I vintage 30.06 rifles had that kind of range (and were used in Nam as sniper rifles) — Someties ya just ned the .50 cal Barrett … :gun:
