    If your bitten by one of those…your dead, their saliva is so toxic with bacteria that your blood goes septic…very quickly :shock:

    Sepsis is almost impossible to stop once it sets in.

    I can state conclusively that was NOT a Komodo Dragon, Varanus komodoensis, but rather the related–and VERY common in Asia–Water monitor, Varanus salvator.

    Even a big salvator, as this one is, doesn’t go but 40-50 pounds, it is not a dangerous animal. In captivity they generally get quite tame. Notice this wild one merely whipped its tail once, after it had been approached twice.
    Not to say it was tame, merely not aggressive.
