I just watched this video. Great points. And yet I am still not allowed to purchase a handgun. Thank you great state of Maryland.
I mean hell, I live in the city with the 3rd highest murder rate in the country, and I’m still not able to defend myself with anything more than a knife.
May 3rd, 2008 at 2:11 pmSeveral years ago my (then 16 yr old) son was threatened by gang bangers intent on gunning him down over a stupid argument over a girl. We went on high alert and I openly carried my 9mm (legal where I live) in a holster on my hip for several days until I could relocate him to his Mom’s house (out of state).
Have no doubt about it … a lawfully owned weapon is not only a right … it’s a necessity. The laws out west favor gun ownership and open carry (even in your car!). The only no-no is concealed carry and a short list of prohibited areas. We need to work on the later because it includes schools.
For those in other areas of the country where handguns are heavily restricted may I suggest a shotgun? Properly loaded and used it could actually present less risk to neighbors in urban areas and is a simple point and click
device to operate

to him. Even though it would leave a puddle on the floor.

May 3rd, 2008 at 6:17 pmYou must live in AZ or CO. I used to work as an apartment maint manager in Mesa, AZ and regularly carried my trusty Llama .45 on my hip. Especially for after hours emergency calls. Never had the occasion to use it but I believe just being able to have it visable was enough of a deterant.
I simply don’t understand the train of thought where people think you don’t have an inherent right to self defense.
May 3rd, 2008 at 6:35 pmI’m a native Arizonan and carry openly in every legal place I can, which is just about everywhere other than a very few restricted areas, it’s not for show it’s a necessity, my wife open carries also though she’s in the market for a new 45 auto, she’s currently looking at Kimbers because they fit her small hand size. She just needs some range time to figure out which one she wants.
If you can carry …. then carry the more of us armed the better.
