Baghdad, May 14, (VOI)- A strong explosion jolted the fortified Green Zone in central Baghdad, leaving unspecified number of casualties, eyewitnesses said on Wednesday.
The blast took place at the Green Zone’s inlet near al-Takhteet gate from al-Joumhouria bridge side in central Baghdad according to eyewitnesses.
No further details were immediately available.
The Green Zone is home to the Iraqi government headquarters and ministries as well as foreign embassies including the U.S. and British embassies

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Israel is dying and that its 60th anniversary celebrations are an attempt to prevent its annihilation.
“The Zionist regime is dying. The criminals assume that by holding celebrations … they can save the sinister Zionist regime from death and annihilation,” Ahmadinejad said. He used an Arabic word, ismihlal, that can also be translated as destruction, death and collapse.
Iran doesn’t recognize Israel, and Ahmadinejad has repeatedly called for Israel’s destruction.
President Bush is in Israel for the anniversary celebrations.

I know it aint on the subject but if it’s like the Care packages I saw distrubited in Vietnam at one time, it is probably under the control of the Army distribution…and that means the Army and their families get it first, and the civiys the lowest on the food chain. Even auctioned off the 6 bys to the refugees. Unless the aid people can be directly involved in distribution, all we’re doing is supporting their Army.

Debka.com is reporting on its ticker at the top of the screen that an 8 year old girl was used in a homicide bombing that killed a soldier in Iraq. she walked toward them and then it was remote detonated. they dont have a story posted just yet but its running at the top.
this is low even for them assholes and may even get to a point where our soldiers wont be able to play with the kids
