Parent Slams ‘disgusting’ Yearbook Photo
Parents and Christian groups in Clovis say a picture of a gay couple included in a high school yearbook is inappropriate and offensive.
The picture causing the big stir shows a lesbian couple along with nine straight couples in a feature that is titled, “Do you want to go out?”
Students and faculty with the yearbook say they just wanted to show diversity and that gay couples have the same right to be in the yearbook as anyone else.
Former lieutenant governor and parent Walter Bradly says the pictures show a violation of a school policy banning public affection. Further, he says teenagers shouldn’t be exposed to the picture in controversy.
“That’s not appropriate for a year book, an annual for 15 and 16 year old children. I just can’t buy this. This is disgusting,” he said.
The yearbook’s supervisor said the picture does not violate any privacy rules or district policies.
Be respectful of others and their opinions. Inflammatory remarks and inane leftist drivel will be deleted. It ain’t about free speech, remember you’re in a private domain. My website, my prerogative.

This is a high school yearbook, whose only intended recipients are the students who desire a memento of their HS years. Until I am ready to don the garb of the Saudi religious police and claim ultimate moral authority, if the students have no problem with it, then I don’t either.

May 24th, 2008 at 10:15 amthere is a difference between having a memento of your high school years and pushing a perverted lifestyle. including these photo’s and the students comments into the high school year book adds a layer of official authority and approval that is not representative of the community. even if it were “representative” of the community, it wouldn’t make it right. it is unhealthy for everyone.

May 25th, 2008 at 2:04 ammost reputable psychologist agree that the best and most wholesome environment for a child is in an intact family structure. by that they mean, 1 father, 1 mother, married to each other. statistics bear that out. remove one and the children suffer the most. they’re more likely have impaired relationships, lower achievement and the likelihood of criminal behavior. im not talking about abusive homes either. as for gay “love”, its a myth. they may have fondness or general affection, but in truth, neither one of them really care or have true love for each other, it is merely lust, self-centered sexual gratification, period.

this idea is being taught in grade school. when the most the kids should be worrying about are their spelling quizzes, and have they done the math problems correctly. they have neither the development nor the reference to grasp and handle a complex idea like a sexual relationship.
look at canada and europe and the laws they’ve recently enacted. its a crime to disagree with the idea of homosexuality. people are being arrested for reading the bible aloud in church for “hate speech”.
we are being assaulted on many sides, by islamo-fascists and radical left, and both have the same goals. which make them “natural” allies against us. why do you think they pair so well? their means and ends are nearly identical. both use terror. one is judicial, the other physical violence. they both want to replace our constitution with something cheap and worthless.
