May 7th, 2008 at 6:38 pmArrrr, those MTVs are ridiculously cumbersome and heavy. MTV= modular tactical vests. I was told that the Commandant pulled those as they were deemed not “expeditionary enough.” I patrolled daily with that thing, which included a front and back SAPI plate along with two side-SAPIs. Without any other gear/equipment mounted it weighed well over 60lbs. Poor bastards!
