Sen. Byrd Pays Tribute To Ted Kennedy
I personally wish Ted Kennedy and his family the best. I don’t agree with Kennedy’s politics, don’t agree with some of his lifestyle, don’t agree with a lot about Ted kennedy…but he is an American citizen who, however misguidedly, wanted to serve our country. How he served is another matter, but truly in my heart I wish him a comfortable recovery and that everything goes smoothly and he lives another 20 years, but has to retire tomorrow, that’d be just fine.
Only one man has been in the Senate longer than Ted…you are not allowed to laugh.

Byrd’s speech, if you could call it that, was nothing if not a farce. I don’t remember Byrd getting so emotional over the death of Jerry Falwell in 2007. To the contrary, I remember quite a few liberals being viciously delighted over his death without regard to Jerry’s essential humanity. Thus, although I am aware of the argument for taking the high road and sympathizing with the Kennedy family, I am more than a little weary of the obvious double standard which exists between liberal and conservative treatment of such events.

Rather than join in all the revelry over Ted Kennedy’s brain tumor, I chose to pray for Ted Kennedy. He has lived his life as a coward, murderer, traitor, and adulterer. I didn’t pray for blessings, long life, or anything else. I prayed that he would come to repentance because he will soon be meeting God face to face.
I would not want to be Ted Kennedy standing before the judgement throne of God and asked to give an account of my life before Him.
