They Must Be Psychic!!! Iran Says $200/Barrel Oil Possible
Well now…..
My, my my how amazing is that? Im Telling ya, Iran must be psychic!
Well psychotic anyway…
And to think just earlier yesterday, I was just saying ….
World Oil Near Record Highs: Iran & Venezuela To Blame??
For the story……
TEHRAN, May 8 - Iran’s Oil Minister Gholamhossein Nozari said it would be possible to see a price of $200 per barrel for crude if existing conditions in the market continued, an Iranian news agency reported on Thursday.
“If current conditions continue, reaching a period when oil is supplied at $200 a barrel is not out of reach,” Nozari told the official IRNA news agency.
Nozari said the reasons behind the surge in oil prices, which this week hit a record high above $123 a barrel, were the weak U.S. dollar and supply concerns from Nigeria.
Iran and other members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, source of two in every five barrels of oil, have blamed factors other than supply and demand for oil’s record high prices.
“In fact, the U.S. dollar has weakened … Another reason is related to problems in Nigeria’s crude production,” Nozari said.
Oil has risen from below $20 in early 2002 and is widely predicted to continue its climb.
OPEC oil supply fell in April to 31.64 million barrels per day, its lowest this year, as a strike cut Nigerian output and top OPEC exporters Saudi Arabia and Iran trimmed production, a Reuters survey showed last week.

They wouldn’t use oil as a weapon now would they?
May 8th, 2008 at 12:04 amDidn’t you mean “psycho” rather than “psychic”?
May 8th, 2008 at 12:18 amAnd here’s how God handles Global Warming

They’re out to cripple us, we should do a pre-emptive cripple of “them”.
May 8th, 2008 at 1:22 amthat reminds the 1973 oil crisis, prices went up, inflation everywhere ensued, food lacks in poor counties… then the prices went down again
I think this is a vast manipulation, who’s behind ?
I suppose certain lobbies take avantages out of it, any idea ?
May 8th, 2008 at 3:52 amWE, THE PEOPLE HAVE ALLOWED OUR NATION TO BECOME OPEC’S BITCHES!
May 8th, 2008 at 3:57 amYou want to blame big oil? the whore’s on the hill and on Pennsylvania Ave? How about looking in the mirror? Because WE THE PEOPLE have let this go on way to long, you THE PEOPLE believed the lies that this is ‘big oils’ fault, that we are destroying little fuzzy animals habitats, that we are causing global warming and whatever stupidity tugged at your heart strings.
So now our economy is at risk by these savages who want our demise. The United States economy is the engine of human freedom on this planet. The USSR lost the cold war because of a weak economy.
Wake up people, this increase in energy costs ripples through the economy, from the cost at the pump to the cost of food on the table.
WE THE PEOPLE still run this nation, you can get active to guide this nation or you can grease your ass for the dictator’s pleasure.
I think Franchie is right, there is no shortage of crude oil in the world. Drill in ANWR, the gulf of Mexico, east and west coasts(preferably right off the beach at Malibu!). Not to mention the new fields discovered in N Dakota. Just the mention of doing such will see the prices come tumbling down. The industry or government should also build a reserve in refining capacity
May 8th, 2008 at 4:03 amI’ve been hearing lately that speculators and futures traders are driving up the price of oil. Maybe they’re banking on that Iran is about to get their ass kicked.
May 8th, 2008 at 5:27 amI say we help accommodate them. We can start by leveling every refinery they have and show them that $200 a barrel x 0 = Zero for the mullah pimps.
And while we’re at it, why don’t we give them a real sniff of what payback smells like. I know some desalination plants that would make a prime target for some JDAMs.
Let’s see how they like $200.00 a bottle drinking water.
May 8th, 2008 at 5:30 amWell actually I think it’s the Democrats …
Might as well start a running total.
May 8th, 2008 at 6:00 amThe Congress will not make a move until its survival is threatened by the people. If the Congress was really concerned about the survival of the country they would work to secure our oil/coal reserves so that we are productive. They are more interested in getting re-elected and securing their future. The pandering to the special interests and high powered lobbyists is the reason for this problem. The people need to rise up and demand action from these representatives.
May 8th, 2008 at 6:09 am$500/bbl in 10 years.
We are just another buyer of this natural resource. With globalization and exporting of American culture, India and China (1/2 of the world’s population?) have an aspiring middle class that want all of the goodies: cars, electronics, fancy homes, all this stuff consumes energy.
It took nature about 3 billion years to product this resource. The “oil age” as it will be know, has a period of 300 years for the broad human civilization.
Get use to using less oil unless you are wealthy. And unless there is a magic energy bullet in the future, life is going to change a bunch in the next 30-40 years.
May 8th, 2008 at 6:10 amIm not the oil wizard or anything but i know we better do something soon because this country is going to fall if oil keeps going any higher, which undoubtedly it will go higher.
Iran needs their ass beat for a few reason but mostly because of their role in Iraq. Bush is supposed to be asking the Saudis to crank out more oil but not sure if that will do anything at all. Gas tax holiday is a joke, we need to have one massive push and just start drilling everywhere then watch Saudi Arabia and Venezuela crumble back to the shit holes they are supposed to be

This country is paying the price for the inbred lawyer types who get into politics.
Congress is a closed shop, group of elitists having there little ego turf wars, and the Nation suffers.
They collectively, as a group, have a very naive, childish, ego maniacal perception of the realties of the world.
It’s going to take “hitting the wall” for this country to turn it around. It will be bloody.
May 8th, 2008 at 6:59 amThe sooner the better, if we are going to save this country.
“If current conditions continue” which means that unless we pull out of Iraq we’ll see higher gas prices. Trust me Iran CAN make this happen. Any added instability in the region will shoot the price through the roof. I say we drill, and we drill NOW!
May 8th, 2008 at 9:26 amDon’t worry. The House just voted to SUE OPEC
. Thank goodness for that pack of courageous, parasitic lawyers who are doing something for us….
We now have the government we deserve. What a joke.
