Can’t imagine why it’s so important now, not before…

FLINT, Mich. (AP) - Barack Obama says he is going to visit Iraq and Afghanistan before the November election.

The presumed Democratic presidential nominee said he spoke with Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari on Monday about the war and told him he looks forward to seeing him in Baghdad.

Obama has said before he was considering a trip, but his comment to reporters Monday was his first firm declaration that he will be making the trip. He said more details will be announced shortly.

He said he told Zebari that he was encouraged by the reductions of violence in Iraq, but that as president he will carefully move to end U.S. combat operations in Iraq.

WHAT THE FUCK?! Hussein said he wasn’t going to visit Iraq because he didn’t want to be involved in a “political stunt”.

  2. Dan (The Infidel)

A little political grandstanding by the Dhimi messiah? LOL. This Obam-i-nation wouldn’t know the truth on Iraq if it jumped up and bit him on his ass.

  3. DC

    I say “great”…..let him go.

Maybe he’ll get greased over there and we won’t have to worry about him anymore.

It is taking so long for him to make his plans because his handlers are trying to assess if it is safer for him to just walk around the countryside or actually make an attempt to visit our bases. You know, terrorist sympathizers are not welcomed with open arms at the gates of our bases.

  5. blastdad( typical white patriot)

Now he’s showing leadership !!! Should get lots of votes with this move.

    Jerk!

…..And VIP’s in entourages aren’t very welcomed on the streets either…………UNLESS, of course, they are AQ sympathizers!!!

Go forth oh fearless Negro leader! The Ghost of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon (that great city of old) awaits you in all of your majestic splendor!

Would it surprise anyone if this visit included talks with Al-Sadr?

    Here it comes!

Scenario 1: Barack Hussein tours Iraq: “discovers” that indeed great progress is being made, and that his previous assessments were “inaccurate” and now he supports keeping troops in Iraq as long as Iraq asks them to stay so that the country doesn’t disintegrate. This is a Cover-Hussein’s-Hiney move to take into account the reality on the ground and prevent him from being cast as a head-in-the-sand fool, as O’Hanlon has tried to hint he should do.

Scenario 2: Barack Hussein tours Iraq: “is unconvinced” that Iraq still needs our troops, and says he will pull them out in short order after he is elected. But he will not admit that the surge has succeeded, and will continue his old attack lines.

Hussein is very clever and he knows that he has to change course on Iraq or look like a complete fool with all of the success going on there now. McCain has to beat him over the head with the success of McCain’s surge strategy in Iraq until the election.

Maybe he will highjack his own plane and demand to go to Iran instead for his long awaited conversation with the midget tyrant.

I can only imagine the media circus… The media is already planning how they can make him look heroic… It would be most excellent if his convoy broke down near a bunch of Marines and he had to live with them for 4 weeks without the comforts and security he will most certainly take with him…

The Marines would show him real men and he may have some sort of awakening…

I wish Obie no harm only open eyes and a little reality.

Urkel “visiting” IRAQ is a real snoozer. He needs to swing by IRAN and talk to his Mullah buds and get them to give up their quest for Persian hegemony over the Middle East and the destruction of Israel.
Now THAT would be CHEnge we could all believe in….

  14. dwallu

Maybe he will have the NOI guard him?

  15. cathyann

I doubt he’ll see the troops though to “show his support.”

Obama got the hard left by being the most pure “anti-war” candidate. (Anti-victory is more accurate, imo.)

If he is going to start massaging and backing away from that stance, which won him his base, then it will be interesting to see how that plays out. He is good at bullshit, no doubt and can start to split hairs and then split the split hairs again. He is clever with words and adroit at blather.

Will he stand by his pledge to withdraw asap? If he backs away from that, will he anger that base? If he does anger them, will it matter at this point? Or will the base try and be clever and ignore his change of position as he tries to square his policy with the reality on the ground in Iraq?

Remember how the Democrat masses swarmed abruptly from Howard Dean to John Kerry in the middle of the primaries in 2004?

Suddenly the Dem masses realized that they had to try and fake out the country with Kerry and turn a lying, anti-military shyster -who made his political hay out of backstabbing his comrades in Vietnam- into George Patton.

Hey, remember how Kerry’s vast military experience vastly gave him more prestige to be president than Bush? Why, his four months in the hot zone of Vietnam was the very essence of why we should not laugh when he was “reporting for duty” and running with his “band of brothers” as a hardass soldier.

In 2004, military service was THE utterly most essential background to be president.

(Of course, a draft dodger was perfectly acceptable in 1992…another story.)

And yet, here we are four years later and….well, I guess that all important military service which they screamed and howled about back four years ago is uh…not so important now. I wonder what changed?

Of course, by choosing John Edwards as his veep, Kerry did a bit to make the chest thumping routine seem a little bit phoney. Which it was.

For Dems, it is about power. It is about lying, distorting, twisting, dancing, prancing, mincing, dicing, spicing and nice-ing…whatever it takes to sell what people might not normally buy.

Obama is a very conventional politician with no new idea I have heard yet. He throws allies under his bus, as needed. (Family members too, as needed.) The operating principal of his campaign is convenience, which is the eternal truth for most politicians. He, like Bubba, would make a decent used car salesman.

How his blisteringly left wing philosophy will insert itself into the mix will be fascinating if he wins. How much destruction he might do to our country and constitution can only be guessed at.

And yet, barely eight years after 9.11 we are on the verge of electing someone to the left of Jimmy Carter as our commander in chief.

    God help us.

You guys give him too much credit…. he is only clever because the MSM refuses to cover this Alfred E. Neuman look alike as he blunders and stammers his way into history. He is an idiot, but he is a Marxist, so the MSM thinks he is brilliant.

  19. Q_Mech

Someone should warn him not to complain about the price of arugula to the troops.

Hussein might have read Pat’s 11:30 A.M. Post

By the way, to quote one of my better Baghdad sources this morning: “It’s deader than a doorknob here. Never thought I would see it like this.” :gun:

Yeah, I know…but it’s kind of a hoot to imagine it.

PS - I wonder if Hussein is going to pack a box of adult diapers.

I don’t know if I can live through anymore of this bullshit. The guy makes me ill. Seriously. Especially since just about everyone in Ill-inois worships him.
    God help me.

    Heavyfreakin’ sigh.

They guy stabbed our troops in the back many, many times. His arrogance is astounding.

Buck-up Kiddo…Hussein and the Democrat’s comeuppance is coming and it’s name may very well be Pat Dollard’s “Young Americans”… hang in there.

“And yet, barely eight years after 9.11 we are on the verge of electing someone to the left of Jimmy Carter as our commander in chief.”

I so agree. It’s one thing to have Marxists running around our country, espousing their intellectually vacant ideology, but something else entirely when a huge % of the citizenry is willingly working to place one as POTUS.

    Mike3481

I hope Pat’s video will prove to be a nail in Obamessiah’s coffin. And not struck with just some simple hammer, but a hammer jack or better yet, one of those heavy duty nailer guns that can shoot across a room, embed two feet into wood after being shot through concrete

    Yeah, that’ll do!!

Yeah, I will. Thanks Mike. I hope it affects all the right people too.

I work with attorneys and mostly libs all day long. (Not all thank God. There are a few that get it that keep me sane while there.) Listening to how wonderful B.O. is going to be for president. On top of that they hate President Bush (since day one) and they agree with giving non-American citizens, detainees/terrorists, the same rights we have. I do not understand how they think the way they do while they sit in the comfort of their offices and homes with their families. I can’t even talk to them about it anymore. Why they would afford the same rights to those who are fighting against us and killing our troops is just incomprehensible to me. B.O. will give them American rights and more. The red carpet will be rolled out if he actually wins.

B.O.’s visit over there will be a dog-and-pony show!

Pat we need YA! I want these uninformed smug individuals that I have to listen to every day to see YA and know what our men and women have had to go through and how damn brave they have been and are - and why we fight.

The liberal folks you work with live in a “bubble of false reality”…literally…and they will reject anything that threatens the integrity of that false reality.

How they got there…who cares…just accept it as fact.

The most important thing in their lives is that they can go home every night believing that they are the most compassionate and or caring person on earth, despite whether or not that’s true.

I’ve actually baited my idiot liberal blood relatives into arguments with each other that ended up being about who was more compassionate/caring…oh, that was a fun Thanksgiving… yes, I’m serious.

You can’t change their minds…only they can change their own minds. So don’t bother trying.

You’re way ahead of them…when “YA” hits America, think about casually and in a very low-key manner, mentioning it to one of the guys in the office…if they’re not a bunch of “Nancy Boys” they should eat it up and maybe then, the crap will get flushed from their brains.

    Good Luck
