Classic MTV: Devo “Whip It”

This video is so…unique. As was Devo, who I could tolerate once in a while if I was dating a chick who liked them. For those of you who remember, this was actually a big hit. And I think it came out before MTV did…

    LOL, I lived in Hawaii, so most of my dating was tourist girls on two week vacations. It was just a strange summer, never forget it, Kim Clark from Poawy, California, and Heather Hodson from Santa barbara. Couple of flings apart, but I’ll never forget them. They were both the “Human League” New Wave look-type, those of you between 40 and 50 know what I’m taking about…

    ….mammries, like the corners of my mind…heh heh.

    I liked alot of those new bands BUT not if they were of the de-balled type. Devo were more techno-nerd than anything else. What can I say, must have been a teenage lobotomy.

    The quote about Reagan, “best pres in my lifetime” was to a magazine interviewer confronting him about his political leanings.

    I luvs punk…about the only thing I don’t like is emo which is for pussies. Actually, I deny that it is even punk since the whole ethos of punk is independence and being able to stand alone. Basic chords played too fast and with fuzz, it’s punk.

    Yep, I remember that too.

    My husband, back in the 90s, ran local youth and adult amature hockey clubs … and played on one of the adult teams. He let the guys on his team name the team … they were HUGE fans … so, it was The Ramones. I used to sit the bench as assistant coach, and talk to the guys and they worshiped that band … :beer: :beer: :gun:

    I came across this one at u/tube a few days ago. Too many America haters want the US to apologize for Hiroshima and Nag. Some one did a response that used that annoying Crock of Seagulls song, at least I think, against itself. Ties in with the incorrect song thread I was sploring on Deep Thoughts.
