If they do create a black hole and it doesn't evaporate then you'll have about 5 minutes to live.

However time dilation might make those final hellish moments last an eternity.

if bad things happen, the bastards that made the device get to die first. So thats something!

The earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof, kind of presumptuous to think you can disrupt his plan for the future.
Then again maybe the black hole will be left leaning and suck those jerks into the 8th dimension along with buckaroo bonzi (John Lithgow, old flick).

What bothers me is I get the feeling the people who ultimately will be deciding the tests, and how safe they are are likely a bunch of pot smoking life long University types, who just can't wait to say....."Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds."....

It sounds dangerous enough that it should at the very least be regulated as much as nuclear power is by the NRC.

The standard laws of physics that most people follow wont allow for a black hole. There are many smaller groups who believe a law of physics and according to them they think it will end the world. Even though most other scientists believe theyre wrong and just plain crazy. But then again, someone's going to be right. Either the wack jobs or the mainstream.

Cosmic ray particles with far more energy than this will generate routinely impact the Earth's atmosphere. This is an ignoramuses' initiative.

In 1945 there were scientists that believed the blast from an atomic bomb would set the Earth's atmosphere on fire.

And now this.

Well, I think we're going to find out for sure, because there's a flip side to the black hole scenario and it would be akin to the discovery of petroleum as a fossil fuel in the 1800's.

Look how far we advanced since then.

Imagine an infinite supply of energy that's delivered to the end-user at the lowest cost in the history of man.

Imagine how far we could advance 130 years from now.

If we survive the Technology.

Just random thoughts.
