Iran Threatens To Stop Cooperation With U.N. On Nukes - “Revolutionary Move”
How much more time with the IAEA waste in regards to the serious situation with Iran’s nukes?
Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says there is currently no need for Tehran to review its cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog.
The Parliament’s critical stance toward the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) report on Iran’s nuclear activities was ‘a revolutionary move’ said President Ahmadinejad in a joint press conference with Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani.
The Iranian president added that the Parliament’s warning to the IAEA that Tehran would reconsider its cooperation with the agency is ‘ highly appropriate’ considering the nuclear watchdog’s latest report on Iran.
President Ahmadinejad said that there is no need for reconsiderations as of yet, however, the Majlis is standing firm to defend the rights of the nation.
The President expressed hope that the newly elected Majlis and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran would be able to fully cooperate with one another on domestic and international issues.
Following the release of the new IAEA report on Iran last week, Larijani described the assessment as ‘unfortunate’ and warned that the Islamic Republic might have to limit its cooperation with the agency.
