Iran to ready thousands of graves for enemy soldiers
Iran is to dig 320,000 graves in border districts to allow for the burial of enemy soldiers in the event of any attack on its territory, a top commander said on Sunday.
“In implementation of the Geneva Conventions… the necessary measures are being taken to provide for the burial of enemy soldiers,” the Mehr news agency quoted General Mir-Faisal Bagherzadeh as saying.
“We have plans to dig 15,000 to 20,000 graves in each of the border provinces or a total of 320,000,” the general said, some of them mass graves if necessary.
Bagherzadeh said Iran was keen to “reduce the suffering of the families of the fallen in any attack against our country… and prevent any repetition of the long and bitter experience of the Vietnam War.”
His comments came as the United States continued to refuse to rule out an eventual resort to force against Iran over its contested nuclear programme, which the West fears is cover for a drive to build an atomic weapon.
They also came as Israeli officials spoke of their determination to prevent Iran developing a nuclear capability at all costs.
A former head of Israel’s Mossad foreign intelligence agency said in comments published on Sunday that the Jewish state had one year to destroy Iran’s nuclear programme or face the risk of coming under nuclear attack.
Shabtai Shavit told a London weekly that the “worst-case scenario” was that Tehran would have a nuclear weapon within “somewhere around a year”.
“The time that is left to be ready is getting shorter all the time,” he told the Sunday Telegraph.
Israel is the only, if undeclared, nuclear armed power in the Middle East.

The shock and awe tactic was invented by the American rightwing military strategist, Harlan Ullman.

Of the attack on Iraq, he said: “The point is the simultaneous intensity and enormity of this, it will be a very complicated operation, it will tend to shock, awe and stun the Iraqi leadership.
“We want them to quit. We want them not to fight.”

June 30th, 2008 at 3:03 amHistory-Iraq War: The technique in burying the soldiers involved a pair of M1-A1 tanks with plows shaped like giant teeth along each section of the trench line. The tanks took up positions on either side of the trenches. Bradley Fighting Vehicles and Vulcan armored personnel carriers straddled the trench line and fired into the Iraqi soldiers as the tanks covered them with piles of sand.
Burying these losers makes for less stink & flies on the battlefield.

June 30th, 2008 at 7:58 ammass graves? sounds like they are threatening israel with another holocaust (in a subtle way). i don’t know what kind of war scenario they’re planning on, but i don’t think israel wants to invade and conquer iran nor do we.
the MOST feasible kind of attack that could occur is israel lobs a few missiles (hopefully a nuke) at iran, iran lobs a few back, syria joins in, hezbolla and hammas get in on the fun and possibly try to invade israel to destroy it. but israel (or the us) invading iran on foot seems like a ridiculous prospect.
so what else could they be up to?

Possibly that’s why he’s in such a big rush to drop a nuke on Israel: the Imam needs an earth pervaded wtih chaos, famines, and war before he makes his miraculous reappearance. Then, the story goes, the whole earth will be dominated by Islam, and there will be glorious peace forever and ever. (Of course, that peace is dependent on child marriages, domestic violence, polygamy, women submitting to men in all things, etc.). Yeah, extremist Moslems are such a law-abiding and peace loving people.
