Israeli Cop Commits Suicide Near Sarkozy Prompting Assassination Attempt Fears - With Video
BEN-GURION AIRPORT, Israel - An Israeli police officer fatally shot himself Tuesday at an airport departure ceremony for French President Nicolas Sarkozy, sparking fear of an assassination attempt and prompting bodyguards to whisk away Sarkozy and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, officials said.
Dark-suited men quickly ushered Sarkozy and his wife up the stairs of their plane. At the same time, security guards with guns drawn rushed Olmert and Israeli President Shimon Peres toward their cars.
In a panic, Sarkozy’s wife, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, rushed up the stairs ahead of her husband.
The shooting occurred while a military band was playing, and the leaders apparently didn’t hear anything.
The incident was over within minutes, and Olmert boarded the plane to inform Sarkozy what had transpired, witnesses said.
Police spokesman Shlomi Sagi confirmed that a policeman guarding the airport committed suicide just as Sarkozy was about to board his plane.
Officials said he shot himself in the head.
Another police spokesman, Micky Rosenfeld, said there had been no assassination attempt on the French leader.
Sarkozy’s three-day trip to Israel was meant to improve relations between the two countries.
French presidential spokesman Franck Louvrier could not be reached for comment on his mobile phone. Another presidential spokesman who was on a separate scheduled flight out of Tel Aviv said he knew nothing about the incident.

Guess the big question is… was it Olmert or Sarkozy that he was trying to get? He could have been angry at Sarkozy for wanting to give up part of Jerusalem and his telling Olmert this..or…he could have been pissed at Olmert for being such a schmuck and essentially weaking and selling out Israel. Seems like the MSM thinks we are really that dumb though with their lack of coverage and just buying the BS hot out of their mouths.

Sarko irritates many persons in EU and in ME ; I think he will get another murder attempt ; I also think he knows it, and that may-be he’ll not finish his mandate for want to become a martyr, he seems to ruminate the life of the young resistants that were shot in France in 1944
