Previous “Deep Thoughts”

1:15 A.M.

First of all, thanks to everyone helping out with our ongoing June subscription drive. We’re doing well so far, but still a long way from our goal, from where we need to be. It’s just very important and much-needed to keep things rolling, help Bash who has pulled back from his family business to work here, the unexpected hits I took with both medical and Hollywood issues lately, and like most independent bloggers we depend on our readers to keep us going full time. Plus we have some outside projects coming up with Right Hand Girl and others at the conventions. We’re looking for a simple $1 a week recurring debit/credit or paypal charge, which is easy as pie to set up right here. Thanks so much, again, plenty of good times to roll, and trouble to make….

8:47 A.M.

Just got up. Blech…

8:51 A.M.

When in England at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building’ by George Bush.

He answered by saying, ‘Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.

9:00 A.M.

Hillary’s “campaign suspension”/concession speech is supposed to be broadcast live within the half-hour or so…she’s “running late”…

10:00 A.M.

So Hillary’s been flapping her gums for a few minutes. I missed the very opening, but what I did hear was a full concession speech, and full and rousing-enough endorsement of the moron.

10:16 A.M.

Re: Hillary’s speech. There was no predicted chanting of “Denver!” by her supporters, and they all gave pretty strong applause whenever she called on them to vote the Moron in, although there were a few boos.

Best quote of the day so far was Chris Wallace after the speech: “I was a little surprised she spent so much time talking about herself.”
I had no idea Wallace would ever drink on the job.

10:24 A.M.

A day late and a Dollard short: as has happened a few times this year, a story we’ve already linked and/or commented has hit the Drudge Report a day or more later:

“Baby Miraculously Survives Abortion, Expected To Live Normal Life”

Is this pathetic, off-putting, juvenile - if not infantile - and probably irrelevant self-aggrandizement? Yes. But I was born a poor black child and such things just remind me of how far I’ve come…

10:32 A.M.

Scott Rasmussen, head of Rasmussen Polling: Dems are literally split 50-50 on whether Hillary and Bill should be Hussein’s Vice President.

By the way, Bob Barr did ask me, but I agreed to meet solely to beat the living shit out him, which I did in his living room. He paid me handsomely not to publish the photos.

1:30 P.M.

Domenica Davis needs a boob-job. We could hold a July fund-raiser for that.

1:38 P.M.

Video: 12 M-16’s missing after falling off Air Force truck in Utah…

3:11 P.M.

No one should be surprised that Hillary gave such a strong and rousing support of Hussein for President today. She’s campaigning for the damn VP spot. What’s going to be funny, is when all hell breaks loose when she doesn’t get it.

3:34 P.M.

Ever wonder what it’s like around my house?

Sunday Talk Show Tip Sheet, excerpted from Poltico:

ABC’s “This Week” features interviews with two high-profile campaign surrogates — Massachusetts Sen. John F. Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a long-time McCain confidant.

ABC host George Stephanopoulos also sits down with the woman of the hour, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who hosted a secret late-night meeting between Obama and Clinton at her Washington home on Thursday.

“Fox News Sunday” leads the surrogate way with two governors often mentioned as possible vice presidential running mates — Minnesota Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty for McCain and Virginia Democratic Gov. Tim Kaine for Obama.

CBS’ “Face the Nation” features another Virginian also often reported to be on Obama’s short VP list: Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va.).

CNN host Wolf Blitzer discusses the war on terror and the ongoing hunt for Osama bin Laden with Husain Haqqani, the Pakistani ambassador to the United States.

Damn, I wish this could legitimately be my family Christmas Card photo…
