I too would use this momentum to my advantage. This could be an asset to the McCain campaign, along with gay marriage judicial malpractice in California.

Such issues turn out conservative voters.

WASHINGTON — Sources told News4 on Monday that D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty will appeal a Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the city’s 30-year-old handgun ban if they should lose tomorrow.

“We have made the determination that this law can and should be defended and we are willing to take our case to UN to protect the city’s residents,” Fenty is reported to have said. “Our handgun law has saved countless lives — keeping guns out of the hands of those who would hurt others or themselves.”

Fenty said he will appeal to the UN for sanctions to be placed on the United States. “We understand this is an unorthodox move, but desperate times call for desperate measures”.

Fenty has planned an early press conference to begin after the Supreme Court rules and he and his legal team have an opportunity to review the complete decision.

Talk about a sore losser. Now the mayor wants to appeal to the UN. DC can’t do that. They now have to obey a ruling they don’t like. Gun owners have put up with this for years now the shoe is on the other foot.

Hello? Appeal the Supreme Court? He’s going to appeal to the UN? WTF? I don’t know wether to laugh or cry! I guess it’s just a little glimpse of things to come.

When is the NRA going to start exposing Obama for the gun grabbing lib that he really is?!!

  6. One Shot

McCain already has. He ripped him a new asshole at a press conference today, LOL.

Obama was NOT a signatory of the Amicus Brief that Cheney sent to the SCOTUS. McCain was :)

I would like to see the UN try to impose sanctions on the US over this.
Who is gonna enforce it (good luck without the US)?

Definitely time for Full on Legal Blitz.

Ummm yeah….the UN…. Washington D.C. another city filled with liberal cry babies.

The Un doesn’t rule shit in this country. Fuck them. We have a constitution, they have nothing. The UN is a third world entity. We lead the first world. They lead nothing.

    Listen up libs:

“Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man gainst his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American…[T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people. ”

The decision today is the best gun related decision to come in my lifetime. GO NRA!!!

I just love it now that we have them on the run. Being an ex Army guy, I say kick ‘em while they’re down. They’ve done that to us for years. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, I say run them in the ground. Never let the pressure off of them. Drive them insane(er)..LOL

It really doesn’t matter that all of the issues weren’t resolved today. The major issue was ruled in our favor, and it has been ruled that we have a right to own guns. Now, we must build on that at the state level.
More importantly, we must keep NObama out of the White House; or guess who his SCOTUS nominations will be??:( They can then destroy the good that was done today by having a Liberal SCOTUS overturn today’s ruling.

How could an American citizen who has attained an elected office as high as Mayor of Washington, make a statement that he will appeal a Supreme Court decision to the U.N.

That is crazy and beyond belief.

  12. ken

Please, without the US the UN is FA (fuck all). Tell the UN to go to Zimbabwe (without any US aid) and solve some real issues. If they succeed there, come back and talk. Goog luck with that

I heard something this morniing that made me laugh. THe year before this law was enacted in 76 or 77 there were ~135 deaths due to handguns in D.C. Last year there were 144 so where is the evidence that banning handguns has worked?

  14. JimmyT

If an elected official appeals to the U.N. for help and requesting sanctions be placed on the USA, isn’t this treason?? I mean asking an outside governing body for help aginst the usa, isn’t that a little over the top? Who will this asshat ask for help next, North Korea??
