Okay … It’s Friday. I’m about mentally spent on this … I’m sure you guys are too.
I mean, you can only take so much self-inflicted insanity of [some] people … and then you gotta just … have a beer, I guess … I dunno … and stand back sipping while you watch them piss themselves silly. It’s become a friggin’ sport with these assholes … Our Elected Class is making the WWE look like the damn Olympics!
What is really getting me now is the whole “It’ll take X-many years” BULLSHIT!
It’ll take another 5 years before my daughter can be called “Doctor” … So, to hell with it???
Besides, I don’t believe all this 7-10 years crap the anti-drilling crowd keeps spewing (hungry U.S. oil companies will tap that in record time, baby) … And we’re supposed to take THEM seriously about some cock-and-bull about Global Warming in 100 years??
Hey, can we impeach them for this?

Dems Depriving Americans of Offshore Oil, Say GOP Lawmakers
By Josiah Ryan - (CNSNews)
Democrats are depriving Americans of approximately 86 billion barrels of oil that likely lie off the nation’s coasts by sustaining a moratorium which bans most offshore drilling, Republican lawmakers told Cybercast News Service on Thursday.
But members of the Democratic leadership told Cybercast News Service that offshore drilling would have no immediate impact on gasoline prices and would harm the environment permanently.
“I have been here for 18 years, and there have been 46 votes to increase America’s domestic energy supply. I have voted for all 46. Nancy Pelosi has voted for two,” Minority Leader Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) told Cybercast News Service. “The speaker and Democrats are standing in the way of our ability to produce more oil and gas here in the United States and become energy independent.”
Ways and Means Chairman Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) told Cybercast News Service, however, that offshore drilling is a short-term solution that will cause permanent damage to the environment.
“I don’t have all the answers,” said Rangel, “but experts have decided that it would be a temporary fix with permanent harm to the environment. That is why I don’t think we should drill offshore.”
In February 2006, the Interior Department’s Minerals Management Service (MMS) released a report estimating that 85.9 billion barrels of “undiscovered technically recoverable” oil resources lie in U.S. territory on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS).
On Tuesday, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior and the Environment voted 9-6, along partisan lines, to kill a bill that would have lifted the 27-year-old federal moratorium on offshore drilling in most coastal waters except parts of the Gulf of Mexico.
Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) also told Cybercast News Service he thinks Democrats are responsible for blocking Americans from access to their own oil by sustaining the moratorium. “Absolutely, I believe that Democrats are depriving Americans of the use of offshore oil,” he said.
Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) told Cybercast News Service that, in her view, drilling is not the solution to the problem. “We can’t drill our way out of this problem,” she said. “More drilling is not going to solve the problem.”
Minutes before talking with Cybercast News Service, Murray told reporters in a pen and pad session that she had just paid $4.29 for a gallon of gas back in her home state of Washington. “This is having an impact of everybody,” she said. “People are looking panicky.”
Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) told Cybercast News Service that Republican accusations Democrats are depriving Americans of offshore oil are “absolutely untrue.”
“We do want to use American energy and American oil, but we want to do it in a clean, smart way,” Schumer said.
He added that if the U.S. were to drill in the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge, we would “not get a drop of oil for seven years.”
“In seven years,” he said, “we can change our entire energy policy.”

Thing is if they start drilling, and secure that ifnlux of go-juice the money makers at the commodities market (who are primarily responsible for driving it up) cant be crying doom and gloom and shortages anymore…
In theory anyway.

June 13th, 2008 at 8:38 amIt’s always some bullshit excuse with the Dems.
June 13th, 2008 at 8:46 am^ agree with Poe, they will have to come up with another excuse for bleeding America dry.
June 13th, 2008 at 8:47 am“Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) also told Cybercast News Service he thinks Democrats are responsible for blocking Americans from access to their own oil….”
Exactly. OUR OWN OIL!!! Not Dhimmi oil. Not moveon oil.
OUR OWN FUCKING OIL!!!! DRILL IT UOU ASSHOLES!!!!

June 13th, 2008 at 9:03 amIf we started to drill “today” off the east coast, of the west coast in Alaska, in Colorado and other states (and drop some of the inane regulations), the enviros pretend there’s not enough oil to bother about. WE WOULD GET AN AUTOMATIC DROP IN THE PRICE OF GAS AND OTHER PETRO RELATED PRODUCT, because the worst case scenario would subside creating less speculation based on the new reality of more oil. Brazil also has found at least 10 time more oil off shore than they are currently producing .
The Production may not flow for 2-4 years because of all the regulatory hoops, but the price would stabilize. Also all the BULL about Anwar only having six months worth of energy to supply the U.S. is more brain washing it’s an eliptical argument leaving out certain facts to promote their own agenda. It’s “6 month of fuel” for the U.S. if we stop using all other energy sources, current petroleum oil natural gas, all coal, all nuke reactors all solar
all wind all underground thermal all etc etc. OF COURSE Anwar would last only 6 months People need to realize just how much energy the U.S. uses in all aspects of our great civilization from sea to shinning sea. It’s a butt load people, a mind boggling amount to create this great nation.
If liberals are so anti DOWN SIZING and jobs loss… Now that I think about it the more chaos the more fear they create thus the more power they can take from companies and individuals alike. Same as it ever was.
June 13th, 2008 at 10:11 amFrom this article, a perfect example of disconnected elites inside the beltway:
….
So asshole, why have you not changed the policy yet? All you bunch of traitorous bastards have done was block any meaningful energy policy changes that was attempted by the Bush administration.

Wouldn’t you just love to slap the teeth out of these elitist collectivists?
June 13th, 2008 at 10:28 amJohn McCain has got to talk non-stop about two things:
1) Exactly what this article is about, which is Democrats holding America hostage at the bidding of their Enviro-wacky supporters
2) Their betrayal of America by attempting to force a unilateral defeat of America in Iraq against one of her worst enemies, Al-Quaeda.
We have got to hold the Democrats responsible at the polls this year, from Presidential candidate to the state levels, for their treachery and inept governance.
June 13th, 2008 at 10:42 amRangel is a mongoloid fucktard. There are very few things–if any–that we (humanity, collectively) can do to “permanent[ly] harm [the] environment. It’s too big of a system to overcome by anything humanity is capable of doing.
Short-term harm? Sure. Medium-term? Maybe. Permanent? Get a fucking grip and cease and desist with the alarming rhetoric.
