WTF?! The author needs to go find himself in the proximity of ONE 20mm round fired in his direction, and then go back and apply a pretty brutal re-write to that sentence!

Those firing ranges are huge. One time at 29 Palms myself (Cpl) with our XO were trying to take chow to our FOs while our battery was active, firing 155 missions at night. Dozens and dozens of rounds.

We were blacked out, no night vision, full moon and no gear available. Was danger close for sure.

No matter how good the training parameters are, the unintended can happen.

Got to wonder how the POV was out there though.
