78 Days … And Counting Down

Congress has just 78 days to act on the huge proverbial ‘hot potato’ the President dropped in their deserving laps on lifting the ban on off shore drilling. Whatever happens, it is the democrats who are the ones standing up in the front row and blocking the rest of us …
This ban is renewed annually … In just under 78 days it comes up again to Congress … and what do you know, that takes them right up to the November 2008 elections. But while they accuse the President of doing this for ‘political reasons’ … THEY are the ones clearly trying to use this for political gain. It is their MO to make people victims so that they can step forward with fists on hips as some damn superhero rescue politicians who will make it all better as government take-overs and hand-outs.
There is NO new alternative fuel or renewable energy source on the horizon that will keep us from total economic, national security, and social collapse. We CANNOT conserve ourself out of this. Yes! We Can … DRILL ourself out of this. We can drill ourself out of this supply mess by drilling at home and building refineries. And in the process get the hell out from under the greasy thumb of OPEC. And anyone who says differently is just a damn liar.
The Pres. of the Institute for Energy Research, Thomas Pyle said this in response to Pres. Bush’s statement and action of lifting the executive ban:
The federal government has made it illegal to produce taxpayer-owned energy from taxpayer-owned lands for nearly three decades. That’s a fact consumers need to understand as they cope with skyrocketing prices for everything from groceries to gasoline. Most Americans understand the law of supply and demand, but they may not know that America is the only developed nation in the world that restricts access to its own offshore energy resources, or that an annual vote in Congress is require to continue that policy. That time of the year has come, and the next 78 days will be a critical period for America’s energy security.

Right now the dems in Congress are scrambling trying to find ways to either get around this, or make it look like their plan all along. Either way, they have no one to blame for this but themselves. They sought to make the American voter victims to the high gas prices, and it looks as if it’s about to blow-up in their faces come election time … might even cost their Messiah the election.
You have roughly 70% (and rising) of Americans saying they want domestic drilling … and Congress just doesn’t want to accept THOSE ‘popular vote’ numbers …
The cold hard fact is these people … this highbrow Elected Class is playing god with our resources, economy, and supply. They are OUR resources … OUR money they seek to collect from us for their coffers at ever increasing rates.
I have said it before … IF the Founding Fathers were to step into this time and see what our government has become they would take out their guns and start shooting … again.
Which ALWAYS brings us back to the ever “Most Important” Second Amendment … You know, the “Reset Button On The United States Constitution” …
The democrat led Congress is bottoming out on E with the American public … and there ain’t NO fumes for them to run on either … except the fumes coming out of their mouths.

July 14th, 2008 at 9:33 pmHere’s another site/petition to keep an eye on, Citizens for Affordable Energy. The leader was one of the oil execs who told Congress back in May we must increase industrial gathering/production of oil, John Hofmeister:

The Republicans must use this issue, and make a wedge between the American public and the fucktard democrats.
Cheap energy is integral to our way of life, and I don’t want the future generations to live like Europeans! We’re Americans, we drive cars!
