Good to have the guys home for a break in the action.

We got the 769th back in Baton Rouge last week. Gov., BR Mayor, LSU FB Coach Les Miles (with sons in tow) and a host of others met with applause. Even thought the Battalion HQ is in his congressional district Cazayoux doesn’t even have a press release welcoming them home. People around here will remember that in November.

FYI, I met one of these fine soldiers at LSU Veterinary School yesterday morning. He was picking up his great dane, which was about waist high to one of the taller NBA players at the shoulders (I asked him where the saddle for the dog was). He was a very pleasant sort, soft spoken, not to be confused with being a limp wrist type.

My family’s Service History is all tied up with the 82nd from the 82nd Infantry Division in WWI for my Grandfather to my real father in Normandy with the 82nd Airborne Division to my adopted father during VN and my brother in Grenada.
That’s the bunch I should have served with if I had been less of a self indulgent fuck-tard when I was younger. Thanks for doing what I didn’t have the stones to do guys!!

TBin STL, what is your adopted fathers name? I was in Nam with 82nd. Does he know that the goldenbrigade.org has their own website? We just had our 40th. aniversary in Dallas last month.
