July 21st, 2008 at 3:10 pmThe Kalashnikovis soo much easier to learn how to clear, care, and operated, than the AR-15 series of weapons. I have shot the semi-auto versions before, and they’re fun too shoot. However, the accuracy pales in comparison to any AR. That being said, I wasn’t too impressed with those recruits’ marksmanship skills.
Two different weapons, from two different design philosophies. Which one is better, depends on the circumstances. Certainly the M16/M4s are far more skillfully wielded, as well as modular advantages. Yet, the AK-47 is far less prone to jamming (at a cost of accuracy), and packs more of a punch. Amazing that after this many decades, both still see active duty around the world.
