Breaking: Police Say Missing Vt. 12-Year-Old’s Body Found - With Video
BURLINGTON, Vt. - Federal prosecutors have filed kidnapping charges that carry the death penalty against a Vermont man whose 12-year-old niece was found dead near his home.
The federal charges against Michael Jacques provide for the death penalty in kidnappings resulting in a child’s death.
State and federal prosecutors spoke in Burlington on Thursday as 42-year-old Jacques was charged with kidnapping Brooke Bennett. Brooke was missing for a week before her body was found Wednesday evening.
In court papers, authorities accused Jacques of carefully orchestrating events and e-mails to make it look like Brooke had gone to see someone she had met online.

That will be the day. The New England Communists in Vermont don’t have the guts for it.
July 3rd, 2008 at 8:00 amI agree Cridhe,
Those idiots are the ones who give child molesters 60 days probation because they think they can rehabilitate pedophiles.
What really befuddles psychologists is that other than a Christian conversion or castration there is no effective treatment for pedophiles.
But Vermonters must know better than us. Yeah, keep giving them probation while your kids pay the price, liberal ass clowns.
July 3rd, 2008 at 8:05 amI agree with Cridhe Saorsa. To pull the switch on this useless mofo requires a small set of brass balls which apparently don’t exist in Vermont.
The geniuses that run the state probably think they can rehabilitate him. Five years from now, Michael Jacques probably will be a Vermont Senator and would probably be better than the current cast and crew.
Vermont is to state as Maxine Waters is to brilliant orator.
July 3rd, 2008 at 8:11 amisnt Vermont where they give convicted pedophiles house arrest? i think so.
I agree with Cridhe, they dont have the balls or the moral compass to do something that is truly deserved like that
July 3rd, 2008 at 8:37 amVermont has a hell of a prison overcrowding problem, simmilar to here in Maine. Not that there is alot of crime but they blow all the tax money for roads and prisons on saving the numbfuck duck or whatever spruce and dont take care of the buisness they are supposed to.
That and alot of the “sex offenders” up here shouldn’t be on that list and sure as fuck shouldnt be in jail. The guy who just turned 18 and gets busted and put on the list for having intercourse with his 16 or 17 year old girlfriend when they have been a couple for years is a travesty of justice.
Anyway they probably won’t off him but they may deal with him the same way corrections deals with that crap up here in Maine.
General Population, where he won’t last.
July 3rd, 2008 at 8:49 am“Federal prosecutors have filed kidnapping charges that carry the death penalty…”
Vermont is not a death penalty state.
July 3rd, 2008 at 10:18 amI’m pretty sure the feds carry out their sentences.
Go Feds. To heck with communist Vermont.

July 3rd, 2008 at 2:05 pmIsn’t that the state where all pedaphiles would like to be?
Is Mohammed from there?
Death to child molesters and pedaphiles, especially the ones who kill their victims.
Death to child pornorgraphers while we are at it.
