Bash is off to the Dr. for about an hour or two this morning. Went to the ER last night, thought he was having a heart attack. Turns out it was something between gas and anxiety. Mostly anxiety. When we spoke, he seemed to be coasting pretty well on some Xanax. Ironic, given that on the radio show a couple weeks ago, I told him he needed to take some…after he picks up his script today, let’s see how it affects his posting. Probably not much, don’t think that’s an energy even Xanax can contain…plus he’s going to be mixing it with Rock Star….

The fall semester is going to suck, with the Obasms present in the student population. Right now I guess that McCain will get 30-40 % of the college electorate. But I don’t give a damn for what my peers think of my voting for McCain; I know who McCain is, but can’t say the same for Hussein.
The other day in my Philosophy: Logic and Language class, we analyzed Bill Cunningham’s emphasis of using BHO’s middle name at a McCain rally, and the subsequent defense of it on Hannity and Colmes. Most of my peers lamented over how intolerant Cunningham was. I said while Cunningham’s defense might be perceived as weak, he did have a valid argument in that middle names have always been a trait of presidents and presidential candidates (i.e. JFK, FDR, RWR, GWB, etc.). Boy I feel like a lone wolf in that class!

I ask some reservists here at Tech, but they’re not willing to sell theirs, or don’t know where to get one.

July 9th, 2008 at 3:18 pmHad my (retired) 82AB uncle’s funeral today. Since he was an Army Vet a local group of vets from the VFW came by with a military ceremony after the funeral Mass. Flag on the coffin … folding it and handing it to my aunt and all …
Then we followed the casket outside the church.
Now, the church is in a not so great neighborhood of the town he lived in.
So, when the seven veterans gave my Uncle a 21 gun salute a ‘brother-from-another-mother’ came stumbling out of his house on the corner onto his lawn … with a semi-automatic tucked under his grey zip-up hoodie that was open enough for me to catch a glimpse.
Don’t know if he figured the seven older VFW guys were harmless with their rifles and blanks … Or if he figured he was outnumbered. Just stood there for a moment until “Taps” was over then staggered back into his house.
Atleast he didn’t come out shooting.
Anyhow, the head of the Vets group graciously handed me one of the casings, which was still warm, and told me he and the rest of the vets really liked my eulogy to my Uncle.
I wore his Jump Wings my Uncle had given me when I was in high school on my suit jacket. The Vet that handed me the casing spotted them and gave me a quick salute and wink.
Was cool …

I have a Hulu account but can’t use it while in Canada, once I step into the US, it works. There are legal clearance issues with streaming outside of the US.
