What will happen is inevitable. One thing that the Mainstream Media has a history–and I mean a long history–of doing, is getting all whipped up into a frenzy placing someone up on a pedestal…

…and then having an orgy as they tear that someone down off of that pedestal. The groupies will be beating and bludgeoning that someone to death with the very column upon which they had so lovingly perched them in times past.

The only ones who escape this are those who die before it can happen.

When you see the media treating someone like a god, or a goddess, rest assured that someday the honeymoon will be over, that a new lover will come along more beautiful, more popular, more…newsworthy.

It is axiomatic. It is a Universal Principle of the Mainstream Media: The creation of the gods is almost as beautiful and profitable as their destruction…almost.

But not quite.

The destruction of a god sells more products, sells more ad space, sells more more more, because witnessing the death of a god who lays bleeding from the wounds of his own devices brings more viewers, more readers, and more listeners than just about anything else in this world.

If it bleeds, it leads. Especially if it is a god.

The pedestal has already been kicked, the rumblings of the death orgy have already begun. Katie Couric asked Hussein several times during this recent whirlwind tour of the Earth: “Weren’t you wrong to oppose the surge?”

Four times, she asked him, to be exact.

Hussein clearly did not like the question. He bobbed and weaved and ducked and dodged and never answered her.

Mark Louie’s words…one day the Mainstream Media who has created this god will rip him down off of that pedestal, and they will break every bone in his body, and they will lay his entrails down the center stripe of Main Street, and then they will take pictures and write stories and post blogs and print articles, as the vultures devour him.

Now whether that comes before or after the election is another matter altogether.
