Quote Of The Day: Winner Of A Contest To Define “Political Correctness”

Texas A & M University holds an annual contest calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term. This year’s term was ‘Political Correctness’.
The winning entry is the quote of the day, today…
Political Correctness:
“Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

Nods to Faithful Dollard Reader A.S. Wise-VA (America, FUCK YEAH!!) for sending that in.

Be respectful of others and their opinions. Inflammatory remarks and inane leftist drivel will be deleted. It ain’t about free speech, remember you’re in a private domain. My website, my prerogative.

How he won that contest in a major university is beyond me.
Props to that student for telling it the way it is!
July 18th, 2008 at 1:21 pmWell A & M Is’t your typical Liberal University….now if it was written anywhere else you’d here the University screaming for the firing squad to execute this “enemy of the collective”—Which is hypocritical considering these same people want to ban executions when it’s anyone else’s life on the line.
July 18th, 2008 at 1:39 pmPC = think before you think that what you think wouldn’t be better thought by those that are more capable to think in your behalf
July 18th, 2008 at 1:44 pmconçue pour ne déplaire à personne et escamoter toute difficulté par le recours à l’euphémisme.
“political correctness, a concept that has been created (?) in order to please everyone and to avoid any difficulty with the help of euphemisms” (french definition)
now, I found a very good definition by Vladimir Volkoff :
(in french, no problem for the “erudites”)

July 18th, 2008 at 1:58 pm“Give me an army of West Point graduates, I’ll win a battle. Give me a handful of Texas Aggies and I’ll win a war!”
–Gen. George S. Patton, Jr.
More Aggies were commissioned and fought in World War II than men from West Point or Annapolis.
As Rob says A&m is absolutely not your typical liberal University
July 18th, 2008 at 2:08 pmPolitically Correct - A socialist ideology that hinders, and ultimately destroys, the free speech of the majority, rendering minorities free to discriminate, insult, threaten and harm the straight, white, Christian, male at will. Thus, turning democracy into a socialist hypocrisy. The S.W.C.M. becomes the scapegoat for everyone else’s short comings, absolving a nation of responsibilities, bestowing upon it a system of government handouts, resulting in an adverse eradication of the will of the people. Thereby eliminating an imagined oppressor and implanting a dictator.
July 18th, 2008 at 2:30 pmThat may be true, but liberalism permeates at ALL colleges(to varying degrees). I go to Virginia Tech, which is the second largest Senior Military College in the U.S. (after TX A&M), and I can say that even with a Corps of Cadets present, there’s still a lot of PC BS coming out of the faculty and administration.

July 18th, 2008 at 2:44 pmI’ve seen that quote applied before, but it was an army of Citadel grads, and a handful of Keydets (VMI grads). Which leads me to believe that Patton never said such a thing before, or it was just misquoted somewhere down the line.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day, America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”
July 18th, 2008 at 2:45 pm- Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate in 1928, 1932, 1936, 1940, 1944 and 1948
Political Correctness - Retarded
That good enough?
July 18th, 2008 at 3:35 pmGet the book “Red Star Over Hollywood”.
“In what may be the first example of ‘political correctness’ run amok, the [Communist] Party expelled or brought to trial members whose only sin was using words like ‘whitewash’ or ‘black sheep’, both of which were offered as proof of racism.”
Good ol’ Dalton Trumbo, one of the Hollywood 10, was severely criticized for “white chauvinism” when he wrote that a Negro boy was “polished and dressed in his very best”. You see, that implied the boy was dirty and slovenly dressed at other times.

personal cowardness
July 18th, 2008 at 4:56 pmHold on now you are talking about the Aggies. During my time you could not enrol without being a member of the Corps. This is a very conservative school and as former grad (’46) asked me, “What do you call an Aggie after 5 years? Your boss!” The best education in TX is at A&M be it engineering or accounting.

July 18th, 2008 at 5:51 pmPussified Communist?
Wise: I think we all know about V-Tech (after the shooting).
July 18th, 2008 at 5:51 pmThe puke-shooter took a literature class with some freak dike. She appeared on TV alot. I read some of her work…no wonder he went nuts.
Great commnts and kudos to the contest winner. I copied that def and have posted it to all my buddies…especially the 0-4+ types. A few of them are Aggies and some of the finest military officers and managers that I know.
Liberalism is a disease that has crept into all the universities conservative and otherwise. Even the churches have become infected by it…which is why it needs to be stepped on, countered and crushed at all cost.
