I grew up watching the B-52’s fly over the house toward Mather when I was a kid. That is one awesome plane. And when I was told they probably had nukes on board, well that made them even cooler.

Is it just me, or was that cruise missile showing off?
July 31st, 2008 at 9:08 pmSay what you want about Boeing and the “60’s-era technology” of the B-52, but that wing is so efficient that the plane flies in a nose-down attitude to maintain level flight.
Damn nice plane.
August 1st, 2008 at 5:36 amOne of the greatest bombers ever. Want to meet some Iran?

August 1st, 2008 at 12:28 pmAh, the might Buffs. My dad was stationed at Barksdale in the 60’s. Grew up in Bossier City during the Cold War. Great little town. Great people. Great Food. Now, they have casinos on the Red River in Bossier City and Shreveport. And, as an unintended consequence, lots and lots of pawn shops. And that’s no joke.
Barksdale is the last stronghold of the Buffs…the best bomber ever made. Let’s see if the B-2 is still around in 50 years.
